It's been a long time since I posted on here, but I need you to hear me out.
This platform remains incredible important to me, as it is where I had the chance to meet the love of my life and my now spouse Vero (verovex @ ao3, former copplepotcrimefamily on tumblr). Gotham fandom brought us together by us both writing fics and encouraging each other, and I will forever cherish that.
We are both still writers and have projects and dreams, however we both also suffer from chronic illness and mental illness.
I see them hurt every single day both physically and mentally. They used to do so many things, write, spend hours on gifs and fanvids with so much thought and heart put into it. Because all that come from them is filled with emotion. However the brain fog of the pain makes it impossible to continue to and I know how much they miss it.
Vero is in a very tough spot where their endometriosis has gotten so bad that they cannot function on a daily basis. This combined with other symptoms we do not know the origin or cause which make it all the more scary with how severe it is.
I see them suffer every single day, turning and clenching their teeth in pain just trying to survive.
They moved to Sweden to be with me, but with the country's system they are not eligible for health care here yet and even if/when they do get it, it's very inadequate care which has failed every single person I know including myself.
We are already drowning in bills and medical bills. And it's still a long way to go.
We found a clinic in the UK that could help but the cost will be insane.
If you have ever read and loved work by verovex, or had the pleasure to talk to them – you know they are the most wonderful and kind person there is.
They just completed their masters in global sexual reproductive health and rights, and are looking for work and a position that allows them to see their project fruition in improving health care for trans people.
I have seen these kinds of posts floating around on Tumblr before but I beg of you, please help us. I don't want to lose my spouse and I fear the longer they go without care the bigger chances I will.
