HOW I FEEL IN LAB AFTER LUNCH
credit: Steve
July 31st I started the longest and slowest move across the country! I spend hours and hours with the most wonderful people, got to see beautiful parts of the country and learn a lot about myself! I excited about this new adventure. All weekend my dad has been introducing me as his “Freshman” to everyone we meet.
Today is my first day of graduate school!
All the snow is leaving. Which is actually a bummer! Today is Monday...but no kids... I dont know that it will feel like a day off. To me teaching feels like a 12 month 9-5 job.... then people tell me "well you get out at 3 every day".... I reply "yes but I start at 7"... The next quip is something like "well even then, it must be nice to have your summers off"... it wasn't until recently that I put together the following idea... I do work as much as someone that works 9-5, 12 months a year.... I just do it all in 10 months.
Anyway, enough ranting. Here's to a productive day and a wonderful evening with the girlfriend.
NYE in NYC. That bright thing way in the back is the ball!
After over 12h of travel, one missed flight and a 2h drive with 3 complete strangers...I've made it! Let the holiday festivities begin! Today- up earlyish (slept in for my east coast time) plenty of coffee with the aunt and uncle while everyone wakes up. Wonderful breakfast with uncle's family (pumpkin bread, ham and eggs, spicy potatoes and cheese). Yummy. Not sure what's on the schedule for today. Skiing or shopping/wandering? Depending on the weather. Mom gets in at 3:30ish... I am excited for a great week!!!!!
EMERGENCY KITTEN SUPPLY RESTOCKED
Thank you. Much appreciated.
I just keep reblogging this into my queue on the theory that whenever it comes out, it will be needed.
And back to CT we go.
Wonderfully silly Thanksgiving with the family. Up way too early for these PST people.... Passing the time until the sun comes out and I can go for a walk around one of my favorite places.... I am not homesick for CT but I am homesick for you. My feets are freezing and I want you to come be my personal heater!
I wish that there was some way to explain how much you mean to me.
Tis the season for college football! Its the most wonderful time of the year!
Ducks playing Nicholls State not televised :( but I'll be enjoying some Penn State football with great friends.... but as always GO DUCKS!
School starts Thursday and I don't know what grades I am teaching, I don't know the school rules, or the prescribed culture. I am so excited for the changes that are happening at school and I feel lucky to be apart of them!
Hitting the ground running for hopefully a great year!
It is still summer for a few more days but today is a new part of summer. Today I start getting excited about my class, my students, and my role as a teacher.
Going into the new building of my newly named school to meet the new principal. I am refreshed from a fantastic brain break and am feeling ready to take on the year.
I've been feeling anxious, almost to the point of nausea, over the year to come. I feel my stomach drop when I think of all the things that can go wrong. But I've decided that I wont let them! I may not have control of everything but I can have complete control of my outlook and my attitude. From today forward I am excited about my classroom, my school, and my kiddos!
Today is the beginning of the rest of the year! I'm ready!
Blahhhhhhhhh So Excited! Zero more days! Zero more days! Zero more days!!!!!
Busy day... Last official day at work, goodbye lunch with the lab, haircut, drive to Portland, dinner with Iona... PICK YOU UP AT AIRPORT!!!!!
You choose. You choose to follow these words of wisdom. It’s always your choice.
Why is it so easy to sleep in past my first alarm, yet so difficult to fall asleep? Can I switch those two things now please.
Research presentation today! 3 MORE DAYS!
