time to say goodbye

Hello all! It should come as no surprise to those of you who stuck around with us this long and noticed the decline of activity on the server that it is sadly time for us to close Cloudcraft. Although we have been bound by unstable plugins that made us unwilling to add new members, it also came down to a matter of time that we were unable to dedicate to the server as a whole. We thank all of you for being the best part of Cloudcraft (and Cupcakecraft!) and for making this server such a joy to be a part of. We are very proud of everything everyone built and the community that formed along the way, and that will be what we miss above all else. On April 18th we will be closing the world permanently. There is no end of the world building, but you are all welcome to sign on and tidy up your bases or leave messages around your areas. We will be making the save file for Cloudcraft and Cupcakecraft’s worlds available as soon as possible once it is taken offline. We will keep this tumblr up and running and may even continue posting the huge backlog of bases by players if we are able to do so sometime in the future. Much love to you all! Ding dong the dragon’s dead! The first Ender Dragon kill on the Cloudcraft server has finally happened! We hope you all had as much fun as we did, and to those who couldn’t make it: we had you in our hearts (and blades)! Players are now welcome to explore the end and/or re-spawn the dragon themselves to fight for a set of elytra. The coordinates to the portal can be found on the world page. The egg is also on display in spawn!

Ender Dragon Fight!

It’s time to gear up, lovelies, for the first Ender Dragon fight! We have scheduled the fight for Wednesday September 26th at 5:30pm pacific time! What we’d like to see you bring (if possible): - Full diamond gear (enchanted is better!) - Plenty of arrows and a bow (enchanted is better!) - A diamond sword  (enchanted is better!) - Enough food to heal and snack on - A bed to set your spawn outside the portal - Potions are a bonus - A pumpkin to wear on your head for those inclined to stare at endermen Optional extras:  - Eye of Ender (or Ender Pearls/Blaze Powder separately that you can craft as needed) to help activate the portal - Empty bottles to collect Dragon’s Breath - End Crystals (or the materials to make them) to re-spawn the ender dragon multiple times if anyone wants to kill it more than once - Anything you’d like to donate/lend to other players who might need it All players will be allowed to hold the egg to get the achievement but the egg is not something any player gets to keep, it will be put on display in spawn to commemorate this event! If you need help converting the time we’ve made this Event Timer to help you figure out what that would be in your timezone. We’re sorry we can’t pick a time that suits every single one of you, but we tried to get as many of our players time zones in as we could!

Our currently active members have first dibs on being whitelisted. All you have to do is head on over to our shiny new website http://cloudcraft.online to sign up and apply (so we have your up to date information). Make sure you read the rules and “what’s new” post in the forum very carefully, you won’t be whitelisted if you don’t! Inactive members are welcome to apply as well but you will be waitlisted until we’re settled. We are not currently accepting new players but we will be in the not-so-distant future. Also a note on armor stands! We will be putting them in properly tomorrow and after that will give you a week to get your armor and inventory into those buildings before we close our Cupcake, Cheesecake, and Pancake worlds for good! When it’s ready tomorrow we’ll let you know! *We will be changing over to 1.13.1 as soon as we can, but in the meantime let’s have some fun! Just remember there may be bugs!

It’s the end of the world and we feel fine. The End of the World ™ buildings in both Cupcake’s and Cheesecake’s spawn are now ready! Every player has a spot in each with a named armor stand for them to display their armor and the items that they had in their inventory when we closed these worlds. You all can leave the player heads on them or switch them out for your head armor, whatever you like. And it goes without saying that you shouldn’t be removing/moving anyone else’s items. You have until August 29th to get your stuff in there before we take these worlds offline!  And for those who haven’t seen it, our new 1.13 world will be opening August 26th! Q&A: 1.13 World Update

Hey all! Since we’ve had a few questions about the new world and when it is coming in regard to the Minecraft 1.13 update tomorrow (among other things), we thought we’d address them here!

Will we be updating tomorrow to the new world when 1.13 comes out?

No! We need to wait for our plugins to update (or at least the essential ones) before we consider opening up the new world.

If not, when will it be opening?

Stay tuned! When we have the answer to this question we will make sure everyone knows it. Plugin updates are unpredictable and depend on the authors of said plugins so the timing is out of our hands.

Will there be multiple worlds?

No! We will all be on one world this time around, it’s going to be exciting!

Will it be the same seed?

No! We have a whole new seed already picked out and a new spawn ready. It’s going to be a completely new adventure for all of us.

Will the IP for the server be the same?

No! We will be trying out a different host so we will have a new server IP available for players when the time comes.

How will we get the new IP?

We have a new website ready and waiting for when we officially switch over (and a server name change! ooooooh ahhhh), so when we know our opening date we will be asking active members to go create accounts on that website so we can stop using our current iclan website (woohoo! no more spam emails!), and that is where players will find the new IP address when it’s available.

What are the two new buildings in Cupcake and Cheesecake’s spawn about?

These are our End of the World buildings we have prepared in anticipation of our final save file. When we have an opening date for our new world we will let you all know ahead of time and players will be able to go and put their armor on the armor stands and their inventory in the chest below it. Please don’t use them until we give the go ahead! Why do this? So players exploring the world downloads in the future will be able to see who the active members were at the end of the world and be able to check out their inventories for fun!
