Beds & nooks at Salmon Creek Farm in Albion, CA.
Would you believe that some houseboats, like this 1913 bohemian beauty, have been on the canal in the Netherlands for over 100 years?
Of course, the old girl’s been updated inside, and look at how bright and spacious she is.
I like her style. This looks like a very comfortable living room.
Can you imagine living in this beautiful BoHo boat?
Below deck is a lovely home office. This is NICE!
Here’s a hallway library, or a place to display a collection.
I like the galley kitchen except for one thing- even though it gets a lot of light, I’d like a window I could see out of.
The cozy bedroom has storage galore, including a walk-in closet.
What a great bathroom.
This is a fabulous room- look at all the arts and crafts supplies.
Isn’t this porthole pretty? It’s like a piece of art.
I don’t know what it is, maybe some kind of antique winch? But, I like that they kept it, and there’s a view of it from the window.
And, what a delightful outdoor area.
What a great place to live.

Calling the Goths! I have posted tiny houses and cottages, but never one like this. It’s a little gothic mini mansion.
The Gothic Victorian Mini Mansion is hand built with reclaimed and vintage materials, a Mansard roof, a tower and Emmet the gargoyle guard to keep watch!
The Great Room of the Gothic Victorian is a blend of plush, regal and cozy. Relax and play the piano, sip a glass of wine or a cup of tea.
The kitchen is large enough to entertain, and has dishes and glassware for 8.
The kitchen has reclaimed quartz counters, a full-sized fridge and sink.
The antique sofa and chairs are red velvet and quite sumptuous!
The antique, brass fireplace glows with flickering, remote controlled candles, and the custom sliding door leads to the full bath.
Take a bath in the cast iron, claw-foot tub!
A copper sink and quartz counter.
The “tower” adds a large entryway, with hooks for garments, and a round, stained glass window.
The Gothic Victorian living room from the loft.
There is room in the loft for storage.
The bedroom loft is over 6 feet tall!
The custom stairs are behind the fireplace doors, under a carved, brass chandelier.
The alternating stairs make an easy access to the loft bedroom.
Drapes can be opened to enclose the entire loft, creating a private, Gothic cocoon!
The candles in their candelabras create just the right mood!
The Gothic Victorian takes architectural cues from the late 1800s and has to be one of the best recycled tiny houses I’ve seen.

Iina and Taneli decided to move from an apt. building to this cute blue detached house that was built in 1925. Previously, their favorite decor was 1950s but when they moved to this 1920s home, they decided on Granny Modern.
The cold porch is a storage space. A wooden sofa was found in the loft of the family farm. Iina repaired it with her father, first dismantling it into its original elements. Isn’t this a cute little porch?
Iina’s mother was throwing away the graceful armchairs so Iina rescued & reupholstered them. The rattan sofa, from the turn of the 20th century, was found in a flea market.
Taneli collects LPs and they’re played on her mother’s old turntable.
They use the fireplace every day, with wood from Iina’s parents’ trees.
Because they don’t want to live in a museum, they’d rather fix and paint old furniture, themselves.
The stove is from 50s.
Iina plans to paint the 1950s hutch mint green.
The wall of the foyer is wallpapered in the pages of newspapers and magazines that had been used as insulation. Iina decoupaged the little chest with paper napkins.
The couple sleeps in Iina’s grandmother’s old bed.
While they combine patterns and colors wildly, pink keeps the whole color scheme under control. They think it provides a good background for the rest of the interior.
Look at how cute this yellow chest turned out w/the new drawer pulls.
When Iina sees a fabric she likes, she buys it without knowing what it will be, b/c she enjoys sewing. She found the old desk in her parents’ attic and painted it yellow, herself.
Iina said, “I also love wallpapers. Many are afraid of getting bored with colorful pattern wallpaper. Useless fear! Rather, I would get tired of the white walls. We only have a few paintings, because the wallpapers are made of artwork. ”
Iina would have liked a completely pink bath, but not enough tile was available, so they ended up with assorted pastels.
Pretty repainted lawn furniture. What a cute house!
