Phenomenon I feel happens a lot
most of the notes were just like "this is why we should communicate better and just say it" but i feel like this person elaborates a bit on the deeper root of this problem
this is what happens when you aren’t allowed to say no to anything. if instead people are allowed to say no, and don’t have to dance around it, and nobody gets offended by it, then what you get instead is people being interested and unafraid of asking. because the other person can just say they don’t want to talk about it, and that’s the end of the topic, no hard feelings or offense taken. if there isn’t a way to say no, you can’t ask anything, because you could be asking something offensive. which means you have to wait for the other person to show interest, but they can’t because you can’t say no, etc round the bush.
