hey, it’s been a minute

i’ve missed you all.

the past year has been one of impossible change. moved three thousand miles away from home. said many greetings, bid just as many farewells.

let someone love me for the first time, drank too much, took too many drugs... not necessarily in that order. berated myself for falling into so many cliché traps. experienced and lived through the changing seasons for myself; autumn leaves, rain, and snow.

wondering if i’ll ever be able to love someone back. if i’m deserving of that love in the first place. caught in the same thought spirals i thought i’d long left behind: a fear of changes, futures, and such. it’s funny, how we live our lives in circles. how it takes no effort to sound like i’m echoing EDEN lyrics, when– believe it or not– it’s unintentional.

everything finds its way back to us. i suppose in this case, it’s that voice. inside my (our) head, in my earbuds, in a file system on a computer in dublin, seeking airplay. still accompanying my every plane ride and road trip, even after these past few years of transition where everything else has changed. jon’s still got it

i’m excited for “no future”... god knows i need it. i’m loving this new direction, eager to hear what he has to say, and i hope you are as well.

EDEN live: a list of moments

I’ve seen people making lists of favorite things and memorable moments from the concerts they attend, and I thought I’d start one for EDEN. san francisco – march 13, 2018

Jon throwing his head back and rolling his eyes when he messed up the lyrics to rock+roll for the thousandth time

The entire venue chanting “Tyler, Tyler, Tyler” while a group of random guys were trying to find their friend in the crowd

Everyone cheering whenever a roadie or technician came on stage, not caring that it was almost pathetic how desperate we were to see Jon

Vérité joking that we’d have to give up our places on the GA floor in order to meet her during the show

The entire line of people lined up at the doors prior to the concert shooting dirty looks at a trio of (obviously intoxicated) late people who had bribed and paid their way up to the front of the line

My friend standing shell-shocked at her meet-and-greet when she realized just how tall Jon is

during one of the slower songs, the entire standing row held each other’s shoulders and we swayed along to the song and it was nice~

the guy next to me tried to crowd surf twice and failed both times.

and since we bostonians are Stubborn, we chanted EDEN EDEN EDEN at the “end” of the show three separate times over the span of 15-20 minutes. we died down a few times but some guy was like COME ON HE HAS TO PERFORM WAKE UP and we continued until he came out

and from boston - october 11, 2016

some dude yelled “TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT!” a total of two (2) times

while i was waiting in line for the venue to open up, i picked up a conversation with a two dudes and two girls since one thing leads to another, we end up eating decorative lettuce to the point where it was noticeable

at this show we chanted “ROCK AND ROLL, ROCK AND ROLL” and he got back on stage faster that time

Ooh I was in Auckland - June 20, 2018

(I’ll try to remember as much as I can, this might be really long, I’m so sorry)

Everyone in the crowd being super nice and supportive to Nikita (to be fair, she was pretty cool) even though we were waiting for Jon for ages, to the point my sis gave up and sat down on the floor (lmao)

Me freaking the fuck out (multiple times throughout the night) when I heard sex being played from outside the venue and hugging my sister to thank her for coming with me

I think it was lost//found??? anyways one of the slower songs, everyone turned on their phone flashlights and swayed it from side to side

Random moments when a couple of girls below would shout “I LOVE YOU JONNY” and everyone would cheer in agreement

Jon singing the last lines of wings repeatedly and trying to one up himself by singing it better than the last (I’m kicking myself for not recording it)

Jon only fucking up ONCE (not counting the little accident in Fumes) the entire concert when he momentarily forgot the lyrics to Circles (my fave song) during the VIP soundcheck

Everyone shouting “I THINK YOU FUCKED ME UP” simultaneously in crash

Jon being adorkable dancing to the beat of stutter

ALSO THE LIGHTS WERE SO FUCKING COOL, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY SYNCHED WITH THE SYNTHS IN STUTTER AND NOWHERE ELSE

Jon hitting that high note in wonder and falling in reverse

Everyone clapping along to the beat and and the drummer going ham at the climax of float

Me not believing my ears when Jon started rapping the same lines from his old Traffic Lights cover in the middle of nowhere else

Just the entirety of Icarus.

In-between songs, Jon talking to the crowd and complaining that New Zealand was so far away, resulting in the crowd laughing and me groaning

The accident right before Fumes’ first chorus, when Jon’s guitar strap broke, and him and someone from backstage trying to fix it for what felt like 30 seconds (while people were cheering for them)

Me being ABSOLUTELY PARALYSED when all of my denial melted away and came face-to-face with the 6ft+ man I’ve been stanning for the past 3 years, and embarrassingly being used as an armrest by that same person (luckily Jon’s such a sweetheart 💔💔💔💔💔)

Me being too shy and starstruck to say anything else to Jon and refusing to respond when he said “I hope you enjoy the show!” to me

And the last one:

Me sobbing my eyes out to falling in reverse and repeatedly screaming “THANK YOU JON!!!” to the man 20 feet away from me, who I looked up to during the hardest years of my life and still do 💔💔💔💔💔💔

PS. My annoying screaming might have been featured in the pt. 1 of the vertigo tour documentary (if I actually was, I’m so sorry for fucking up the recording)

November 4th 2018

Getting ready for my meet and greet after a 16 hour shift on the ambulance and my car not starting so I took a $70 Uber.

Getting there for the meet and greet realizing Jon Is a freaking giant and using my 4minutes of face time to make a lame joke about how I hope he brought some Guinness to share cause the venue had none.

Running into Sasha sloan as we were both leaving the bathroom and having a random convo for 10minutes before her set.

Getting literal fucking good bumps during float.

Being insanely sad when I thought he wasn’t going to play XO but it was his last official song that he did an intro I hadn’t heard before for it so I was BEAMING.

Him leaving the stage then getting called back out because we refused to leave.
