just went to the doctor/dentist/whatever to get an abcess in my mouth popped. parking was absolutely horrible. struggling to park and cursing at people in my car makes me feel like such an adult... the experience of making an appointment, going to the appointment, ending up being 10 minutes late because the local high school just got out and then having the doctor poke around in your mouth and say "oh yeah, look at that! pus is comin' out!" is just... fascinating.
anyway rn im squeezig the gauze in my mouth and releasing bloody saliva into every taste bud mm mmm
just watched 25th hour and it actually fucking sucked. big fat nothingburger of a movie, zero plot, and edward norton had a goatee the whole time. so boring dude so damn boring. only watched the whole thing because edward norton was in it and he's a damn fine actor.
plus their lore (in rambling form) if your interested, tw for a bunch of different kinds of abuse:
basically ray's (ray is 14) stepdad, glenn, tortures ray in order to do some science thing, i wont get into it, but glenn is also kind of just a sadist in general. he has groomed ray to accept the torture and see it as a privilege rather than what it actually is (torture). glenn takes ray on "bonding trips" to torture him sometimes, so on one of those trips, ed, who is a disgraced and struggling thief, breaks into the house. he's looking for shit to steal, but then decides that he'll abduct ray for ransom money. glenn doesnt really like that, as one might assume, and intends to hunt ed down bc he's now a witness to the abuse and torture he puts ray through. ed is not a good guy, he's violent and angry, has a short temper and a big ego. he puts ray through a lot. when he realizes glenn doesnt ever intend to pay the ransom, he puts ray up for sale on the black market. glenn poses as a buyer, he meets with ed, gets ray back, and knocks ed out. but the police are after him now and he knows they'll want to interview and do medical checks on ray. cornered, he flees to canada with ray and ed (new test subject!!). he continues to torture and experiment on ray, forcing ed to watch, and he does even worse stuff to ed, no longer repressing sexual urges now that he has someone to take them out on (sexual sadism). ed gets put through a lot of shit. the breaking point comes when ray walks in on glenn raping/torturing ed. he goes to visit ed later in secret, and ed convinces ray to help him escape. after getting out of his restraints, ed beats glenn violently; it's unclear if glenn is dead or not, and then drags ray out with him to go on the run. there's a number of reasons why ed won't just let ray go home, but the main ones are a. he would go to prison for his original crimes, and b. his ego just wont let him let go of ray. ed is negligent and incompetent at best, physically and verbally abusive at worst. he's like a guard dog that also bites its handler. he has a short temper, he's just generally not a great guy. he doesn't have the highest empathy, but he does care about ray in a very rudimentary way. idk how their story ends yet really
now i hc that whenever rusty is in a bad mood he has all the food fails. ie his burrito falling apart, same with the sandwich, and his egg yolk popping when he's tryna cook and it culminates into him crying in the parking lot and Danny has to pick him up💔
