((Itās really sad to see the hmml down now.
Iām optimistic in that it wonāt be closed for too long, because I know to never give up hope.
Iād be happy to continue any threads on Pete, Ivan, Gill, and Elise; maybe even start more to pass the time.
Itās easy to feel disheartened by this, but I feel itās best to keep our chins up and be ready for a possible reopening
Iām still sad to see it go, but we canāt lose hope.))
Skye was hunched over in front of the door, picking at the lock with ease. Most villagers and townsfolk would always lock their doors, understandably so, whenever they received one of his letters. Personally, he thought it was rather rude, even when he had gone through the decency of sending them a personalized letter! Oh well.Ā
Easily unlocking the door, Skye took precaution of the sound that he would make. Assuming that the wooden door would creak if he opened it slowly, he jerked it open with a fast fluid motion, and welcomed himself inside. It seemed eerily quiet, much to his disadvantage. He had been hoping the infant would be making far more of a ruckus than this. He had to work with what he had.
Closing the door behind him with a gentle shut, his eyes darted to analyze the room, and the situation.Ā
Now.. Where was his bookshelf⦠His thoughts went on, as his feet also paced. He had to be quick. Ivan was usually the type of guy he avoided involving with, knowing that he was intelligent and could probably overthink Skyeās plans. He made his way to a shelf, and scanned its contents, hoping that heād get lucky and found whatever he needed on first go. ā¦.The Goddess probably didnāt like him at all to bless him though.Ā
Were those... footsteps? Ivanās heart raced as he debated whether or not to take a peek. With Annalise asleep, there was at least one less worry surrounding leaving the room.
Small movements... small movements... Ivan slowly turned the nurseryās doorknob to peek out into the hallway.
āW-We know youāre in here!ā He squeaked. Maybe he should have stayed quiet.
Poor Thing || Hiro & Ivan
āI understand, I imagine this is challenging for the both of you,ā Hiro said, nodding.Ā āHere, follow me for a moment,ā he added hastily, leading them away from the drafty front door to a chair by his desk, where the man could sit.
āSorry for the mess,ā he began as he moved aside some papers and books cluttering the space between them.Ā āCould you tell me how many days have youāve noticed the teething happening?ā Too long could mean an infection; heād likely have to examine her gums at some point in the appointment.
āOh, it certainly is.ā Ivan frowned, following Hiro at a pace tailored for Annaliseās comfort. He gently sat down; just the comfort of being able to rest for a moment seemed to calm the little one down a bit.
āOh, she started by just drooling frequently around the holidays, but... once New Years came around, she became awfully fussy as if sheās just now realized whatās going on in that poor little mouth of hers.ā He sighed. āIāve tried everything. Well, everything but whiskey.ā He laughed awkwardly at his attempt at a joke, though he could tell not even his sobbing baby found it very entertaining. āAh, forgive me. But yes, Annie just goes through teething toys and then tosses them away to fuss again.ā
"You'll be okay, sweetheart." Ivan sighed as he attempted to comfort his cranky infant daughter, keeping a slow, relaxing pace entering the Konohana clinic. "Ah, is anyone here? Forgive me if this is a bad time."
Hiro got up from his desk to see a man enter the clinic, holding a crying baby in his arms. Putting his work down immediately, he went to go see them.Ā āYes, of course. The resident doctor here is out right now, but I should be able to assist you.ā
He glanced at the fussing child, concern crossing his face, before addressing what seemed to be her parent.Ā āWhat seems to be troubling her?ā
āOh, thank you so much.ā Ivan took a moment to look at the poor little one. It hurt him to see her so uncomfortable. āAnnalise here has started teething recently. The poor dearās been awfully fussy. I just wish I could make the pain go away.ā

a letter is placed on the dining table, a corner wedged neatly under the flower vase centrepiece. the nameĀ sirĀ ivan is scribbled in neat calligraphy upon the top of the envelope. once open, cursive letters are drawn across the page;
Dearest Ivan,
It seems that youāve got your hands quite full with your lovely daughter. Have you still been maintaining your job as a tutor? Have you still been using those reference books in the back of your room? Well, if youāre too preoccupied, then Iāll help myself and give them a new home. Iāll come by around midnight and pick them up (and visit your cute daughter ā„).
- Phantom SkyeĀ
āā¦Perhaps that was a little too straightforward? Maybe I shouldāve buttered him up a bit more insteadā¦ā he mused, around the outskirts of Zephyr Town, not really taking his own thoughts seriously. It was true though, he had been eyeing the tutorās collection of reference books, and wanted them to be his own. Perhaps today would be the night.Ā
āWhat in the world...?ā Ivan raised an eyebrow upon finally reading the note he had managed to keep overlooking until that moment. Was this some sort of joke? As tired as he was from comforting a cranky, teething infant, it was better to take any necessary precautions possible to prevent the loss of his still much needed textbooks.
Doors and windows were locked tight. That should be enough, right? Ivan even considered lighting the fireplace, but he doubted the chimney would be a considered entrance. Entering his daughterās nursery with his cat, he considered the situation to be similar to a lockdown drills done during lessons. Midnight was just a few minutes away, after all, so he kept an ear out for any suspicious noises.
((I need to start more rps on Ivan so please let me know if youād like to thread :3))
What are some of your hopes for Annalise in the future?
Well, Iām certainly looking forward to that first 100-scored test, but I just want her to be as happy as possible growing up. That and her being tall enough to fit all the adorable dresses Iāve seen in some city shops!
whats the biggest difference between being a teacher and being a parent?
Itās much less, ah, loud, I suppose. Iāve never had a teething student before, and seeing Annalise in pain is more than enough for me to fret about.
*Ivan had intended on attending the New Years festival, even with plans on arranging for Dirk to babysit Annalise. At the last minute, however, a cranky, fussy baby takes top priority.*
Poor little one... I know it hurts, but soon youāll be able to eat all sorts of new-- *Annalise is in too much pain to listen to any reasons, so she interrupts Ivan with another wail* I wish I could make the pain go away. *He sighs* The nice doctor said your teething ring would help. Itās nice and cold-- *As soon as Ivan lifts it up, the little one smacks the teething ring away as she continues to cry* Oh dear... Looks like we both will definitely be up past midnight...
*Along with some knocks, the sound of an infant babbling can be heard outside Erik's door* Special delivery for a Miss Lucia and Mr. Mason.
/Heās doing his typical store tidying when he hears a knock and a voice that he recognizes, and he immediately stops what heās doing and runs to the door, opening it with a smile/
Ivan! And little Annie! Little Annie whoās gotten so big, that is! /Laughs/ Which reminds meā¦the twins are now aware of the upcoming sibling, and Lucia in particular is very excited, so I should probably go tell them before-
/The sound of a tiny person using tiny feet to run as fast as she undoubtedly can soon reach his ears, and the look of being absolutely screwed and knowing it is apparent on his face/
[Lucia:] Iban! Iban!!! /She stops when she sees Annie, falling completely silent for a momentā¦though that quickly changes/ IS DA BABY!!! IBAN HAS IT!!! IBAN HAS IT WIF HIM!!! MASEY!!!
/Before Erik can even take the breath needed to remind her that babies do not enjoy bigger children screaming around them, sheās already gone again. Heās grateful that her breathing didnāt seem irregular that time, but still, wowā¦/
I amā¦so sorry about thatā¦
Iām glad to hear theyāre looking fowar--
*Before Ivan can finish his sentence, Luciaās quick (and loud) entrance startles Annie enough for the infant to start with those infamous pre-cry hiccups* Oh dear... *Ivan gently scoops up the little one from her carrier to comfort her*
Ah, itās alright. Annieās just not quite used to so many big people... and big noises! *He chuckles lightly before kissing his frightened daughter on the forehead* Itās okay, sweetheart. Daddyās here.
At least Annie might serve as some practice for how to be around the upcoming little one, right?
Though the, ah, position of the reindeer is something I donāt find very appealing, it certainly is ugly, donāt you think?
I thought it would be fun to let Annie in on the fun as well. I found just the cutest onesie for her to wear. *Annalise babbles in agreement, drooling a little, which prompts Ivan to quickly wipe the little oneās face to avoid messing up her new outfit* Sorry for the inevitable mess. Teethingās drawing near, and Iād say weāre lucky sheās just drooling for now.
What is your favorite season and why?
Spring is a lovely season. I enjoy the nearly perfect weather of the season and the sudden burst of liveliness that goes along with it.
What is your perfect pizza?
Iām a bit boring, I guess you could say, but Iād never object to just plain cheese. I donāt eat pizza very often, so I like my decision to be fail-proof.
Ivan & Pierre
Ah, that makes a bit of sense- after all youāve done it mustāve seemed weird to have an empty nest. [Settles on stroking Annaliseās hair and making soft cooing noises in order to prevent himself from being devoured by her frightening and possibly dirty baby mouth, no matter how cute she is.]
Oh hush now, youāre only barely a year older than me Ivan! Youāre giving me grey hairs just talking like that!
[Looking dramatically wounded he soon brushes it off with a smile, instead glancing between the two of them with a fond look.]
Iām happy for you though, if anyone would make an excellent father- it is certainly you.
Oh, it certainly did. Even Harryās growing to be more independent, as sociable a cat he is. Now the house is lively again, *chuckles* and itās sure to be even more so as time goes on.
*Annalise babbles happily, waving her tiny arms in amazement towards all the places this new hand can go*
Forgive me. You just look so young, Iām sure youāve got time to seek out the ādating sceneā as itās called.
*Smiles warmly in gratitude, touched by Pierreās statement* Thatās so kind of you. I do try my best to be the perfect father for my daughter. I hope she thinks Iām doing a good job.
Ivan & Pierre
[Jumping a bit as he feels a very wet and toothless mouth start to gnaw on his appendages he laughs loudly at Annalise.]
Go ahead, try to eat my hand! You donāt even have teeth, you goof!Ā ā„
Ahahaha, no, itās my fault! I kind of expected this. [Taking back his hand he wipes it on his pants.] What made you decide to start a family, Ivan? Iām curiousā
*Annalise wiggles her arms around, babbling with a tone of disappointment that her new, tasty toy decided to leave and get wiped off. Was she that dirty? How rude!
Ivan chuckles as he imagines such thoughts running through his daughterās head. When asked about his decision, it takes him a while to think of a well-worded answer* You see, Iāve realized Dirkās an independent adult now... he doesnāt quite need me around much anymore. I started to miss that, and, well, *Laughs lightly* Iām not getting any younger, myself. It was a harsh truth to learn that Iām not really the type to just go out there and search for a wife or anything like that, so I went searching for an adoption agency instead. Iām very glad I did, too. Annie here is so sweet and a wonderful addition to the family. She and Harry get along spectacularly well.
