3rd preview of my upcoming #photoedits collection launching tomorrow. I was walking through the Chelsea district in New York (during a weekend trip in July) when I spotted this scene. I really liked how this particular bike lane was divided from the rest of the surrounding street. Kind of like it was its own private highway within the city. Sort of futuristic in my mind but we don't have these in Toronto so it probably seemed more foreign than it actually was. Shot on iPhone 5s and edited in #lightroom

Preview 2 of my upcoming #photoedits collection. This one taken at the Venice skate park in LA last June. I remember seeing this guy a few times make his way around the bowl to gain speed and attempt this big air grab seen here. So I positioned myself against the railing for support, framed the shot how I wanted after seeing his first few attempts, then just played the waiting game. I think I was able to get this shot on his 4th attempt. Definitely worth waiting around and holding my iPhone in relatively the same position as all the other skaters took their turn. Probably about 10 minutes of being semi-crouched against the outer railing of the skate park! Shot on an iPhone 5s, initially edited with #VSCO app, final edit in #lightroom

First preview of new #photoedits collection coming out on Dec 1st. Taken from a 3rd floor balcony looking over Bayview Ave, just north of Sheppard in Toronto. Shot on iPhone 5s, initially edited using #VSCO, then finished in #lightroom. I had no idea that the picture would turn out like this, like it was painted (but I'll definitely take it.) Basically just the result of some button mashing in Lightroom. But after replicating this with a few more pictures, I soon caught on how to do it on purpose... as you'll see in the coming previews this week

My Pledge As A Youtuber.

Hey,  My name is Matt and I make youtube videos on the internet.  Ive decided to type this out to help people understand where I come from as far as my ideas on how to make videos on youtube.  As a youtube guy I pledge that every video I make will be that of my own original idea. I may include topics suggested from a viewer but that will ONLY be the frame work for the vision I am working towards. I pledge to NEVER hop on any train/bus to popularity. If I do, it must only be to make fun of how awful and stupid said “trend” is. I will keep my distance from any “challenge”“tag”“game” on youtube.  I promise to stay as far away from popular culture as I possibly can knowing full well its easy to get views talking about “the hip new thing to make video topics about”  I will never let the work of others interfere with who I am or what I am doing.  I wont ride the coat tails of anyone no matter how fancy said coat tails are.  I will do what I want when I want no matter if people actually enjoy it. If I can’t actually enjoy the thing Im doing then whats the point of doing it.  I wont ever try REALLY REALLY hard to make a video that relates to other people.. because thats awful. If you happen to relate to a thing Im doing.. awesome.  I wont ever.. “react” .. to anything unless im taking a dump all over others who already have.  I will do my very best to not just make a video full of filler and questions, And I will do my very best to never COPOUT for content.  If you aren’t enjoying what Im making I have to urge you to leave and never look back. I have grown disgusted with a lot of the stuff that youtube wants to suggest to me because its “the popular thing right just now” Its all so repetitive and worn out like an old boot and I feel like you.. my viewers deserve better than that. Sorry. There was an awesome time on youtube (2007-2009) when everything that was uploaded was completely different and original and it was awesome to log in and only see the things you liked. Unfortunately it is no longer that and it saddens me. I will continue to make the videos that 17-19 year old me would have made.  - MattG
