i wish I could go back a few chapters and do things a little differently
but even if i did, its still the same book isn’t it?
you wouldn’t have made it to the sequel no matter what words my pencil could erase
you made sure of that when you wrote yourself out of it in permanent ink
and even if you didn’t
you’d never pick the book back up again to see just how much i wish we had a different ending
I hope the moon reminds you of me.
Marina Tsvetaeva, from a poem titled "When it’s unbearable," (edited) featured in Moscow in the Plague Years: Poems
forgive the version of you that didn’t know any better
forgive the version of yourself that knew better but did it anyway. forgive every version of yourself. we are constantly learning from our mistakes.
forgive the version of you that didn’t know what to do and could not have foreseen what the right choice was, if there even was one. forgive the version of you that made a choice and regretted it.
I don't even need much I just want a peaceful life
