As most of you may not know, I am pressing forward to obtain a B.A. in History. I love history. History tells us how we got to the place we are now, and if we will just be smart enough to learn from it, it could help us get to a better place tomorrow. Alas, few care about history and the saying is true. If we do not learn from history, we will be doomed to repeat it.
One aspect of history is warfare. War has been a defining part of manās course through time. Many have been fought, and generals of every nation today learn from the successes and failures of those who have gone before them. Niccolo Machiavelli said, āThere are three things necessary to conduct war. Money, money, and yet more money.ā There is another aspect of warfare that is also true. An army marches on its stomach. Any vast number of troops, or even those numbering a few thousand, need supplies. An army can fight with weapons, but they cannot eat them. Logistics is vital for an army to keep up the good fight.
All of this brings me to the ācaravanā coming up through Mexico, whose numbers have now swelled to around five-thousand people. Whether you want to believe it or not, this is an invading army. They have been organized to march. They have been supplied, or else this would have ended after the first ten miles. Money has poured in to transport them, feed them, water them, sustain them. They carry their national flag(s) as they march to our border. They have an ally in Mexico, who has let them in and is cooperating with their āgeneralsā to see them safely through the country. Their weaponry consists of the few women and children that are among the 90% or so males that are in the group. Many have been deported before. Another weapon is their plight, their move to gain pity, and to gather public support for their journey through the news media.
Their goal is to make it to our border before the mid-terms, and force Trump into a showdown and side show that will stain the present administration and hopefully create the blue wave the Democrats so hope for. We are under assault, people. Our nation is under attack. In the past, it has been a few here, a few there, that eventually racked up to be millions over the decades. But, if this caravan is allowed to be successful, then we should drop any semblance of having an immigration system. We should tear down the entry points, open the gates, and lay off all border patrol agents. Forget a wall. The flood gates will be broken forever, and we will be undone as a nation in due time.
The money behind this caravan seeks our destruction. It is socialist money. It is anti-American money. It is money aimed at attacking the very fabric of our economy, infrastructure, government system, and laws. If it is allowed to succeed in its purpose, we will be lost as a sovereign nation. Not because of these five thousand. But because of the hundreds of thousands and millions more who will pour in unabated after this caravan proves America doesnāt have the stomach to do what is necessary to stop them.
I have written the president on this matter. I pray you will as well. Perhaps it is time to send a Pershing into Mexico and deliver a message to that broken and corrupt country. The message would be, āWeāre mad as hell, and weāre not going to take it anymore.ā Since Mexico doesnāt respect our sovereignty, why should we respect theirs? This is war, people. It is a war of a different stripe they think they can win. We should make it a real war, so they will know they canāt.
