                                                Backstory Ivy Fitzgerald published her first article at 2:17 a.m, Monday July 23, 2022.

Ivy is a journalist from Stowe, Vermont with a sharp eye for detail and a quiet, observant nature. She relocated to Red Edge, California, taking a reporting job that promised new opportunities and a change of pace. Officially, the move was about being closer to her half-sister—close enough to finally build a real relationship without miles and missed calls in the way.

Unofficially, Red Edge was an escape.

Back in Vermont, Ivy carried a weight she never talked about—lingering guilt tied to choices she couldn’t undo, and a growing sense that the place she once called home no longer felt safe. Rather than confront it head-on, she chose distance. A new town meant fewer memories, fewer questions, and the chance to breathe again.

In Red Edge, Ivy starts over from scratch: a modest apartment, an unfamiliar newsroom, and streets filled with strangers who don’t know her past. She throws herself into her work, believing that truth-seeking can be a kind of redemption. Yet beneath her professional calm is a woman hoping that reinvention is possible—and that by getting closer to her sister, she might finally find a version of family, and herself, that feels whole.

Ivy tells herself this is a fresh start. But some shadows don’t stay behind—they relocate.

Ivy chuckled " No, they aren't. They are just...I don't know. I think I'm just too content with where I am now. She's just one of the many crushes that I just like the most. The others haven't done more for me to actually try anything with so ," she shrugged. Then shook her head " Wait hold on! What about you? You hassling me, where's your crush at? " she pointed at him.

Ivy was on her phone, trying not to burst out laughing from scrolling on tik tok. As she was scrolling, she was laying in bed with River because last night he had asked could she stay in bed with him for the night. She didn't mind and she could tell he needed the comfort after being so drunk.

Once Ivy let out a quick laugh from the video she was looking at, she felt River jump up. She jumped too and looked over at him with a bit of a laugh " You got super drunk last night, telling me I was beautiful and begged me to have sex with you. You told me I was your sex goddess and that you would only ever have eyes for me. Then you cuddled me like a baby and fell out," Ivy joked with him as she nodded her head, not trying to break character. When all she did was just sleep in the same bed with him. She looked back at her phone " But it's 10am…wanna go to the diner and eat pancakes?” she said with a slight smile on her face.

"Work fucking sucked today, I don't want to talk, I don't want advice, I just want to drink and let my hair down and possibly wake up with a hangover in the morning. How does that sound to you?" @rededgerpstarterblog

" Only if I get to wake up next to you, then I'm down," Ivy looked up and had a cute little smile on her face. This time she wasn't joking and was practically shooting her shot. If it didn't work out, she was okay with that. She shrugged " But other than that you know I'm always down for whatever. I'm off tomorrow and I have all the free time on my hands tonight," she said.

Juliette looked at Ivy with a grin. "Besides work, nothing. All I do is go home and spend time with Layla." She said with a laugh. "How about you? Any romance going on I should know about?"

Ivy raised her brow " hm...that's not what I heard around the street," she shook her head as she smiled at her sister before looking over at her own bracelet. She then shrugged " No, not really. I'm just spending my time with friends and flirting my way through life," she smiled. Ivy at this point was over Beau and done. Nothing was moving forward and she was just tired of being mad all the time.

Juliette looked up from her computer as her sister and daughter walked into the room. She listened to her sister with a wide smile. "I'm so glad to hear that. When I have work, you can definitely do it again sometime." She moved some strands of hair from her daughters face with a grin and leaned down to kiss the top of her head. Jules looked back at her sister. "Look at that beautiful bracelet." She admired, eyes gazing down at the jewelry placed on her daughters wrist. "She is the coolest kid in all of Red Edge."

" That's a deal," Ivy said with a smile and watched Layla show Julie her bracelet. " Yes she is," she nodded agreeing with her sister. Then she got up from the couch and sat in the chair closer to her sister " Sooo other than work, what all you have been up to these days?" she asked julie with a big smile.

Ivy had time on her hands and she decided that she wanted some time with her niece for the day. They had a lot of fun. They went shopping, had lunch, went to the zoo, and had ice cream. It was very therapeutic for Ivy and exciting for Layla.

They got done with their festivities and came back to Juliette's place. Ivy walked through the front door with Layla running in toward her mom. Ivy already had a key to the house made, that was given to her in case of an emergency. But Ivy would use the key for anything, including for her fridge to make a sandwich and walk out. She walked over to couch to place the bags on it and walked over to Julie. " We had a very enjoyable time and I would love to do it again. Queenie was actually a very good wing man. Hot guy at the Jared jewelry store, you know with the pretty deep blue eyes, tall,dark, and handsome? Gave her a cute bracelet for a free and his number to take me out tomorrow night on a date," she danced as Layla smiled big, showing her mom the bracelet. " She is the coolest kid I know," Ivy said as she rested down on the couch. @juliettexmaddox

Ivy chuckled " No, no not at all," she shook her head. " I'm pretty sure mentally, I've been kicking his ass. But I don't know...I think...I think I just moved on from him. I want something more than what he's not able to give me. I'm tired of worrying about what happens if he does this or that. I'm tired of trying to focus and hide my heart because I believe that he will take hold of it and break it. I just want to relax and not have to think about that ya know? I want to be able to give my heart to someone who won't test it, but protect it and cherish it for life," she told Elena. " Yeah, my place of stay when I retire for sure,"she nodded with a smile.

"Did you enjoy Italy or was it too much for you?" He raised a brow at Ivy and smiled at her. "I had fun."

" Too much? It was just enough and much more. When I'm on vacation, I enjoy taking my time and relaxing. I'll do a few tours here and there, but I enjoy soaking in the scenery and food everywhere I go. If I want to do much more than that, I'll go to an amusement park," she chuckled. " But I'm glad you enjoyed it." she smiled.

Juliette smiled at her half-sister. She looked around with delight before she turned to look at her again, nodding. "This is very beautiful..." She muttered as she got her digital camera and began to take some photographs. "No, thank you for inviting me."

Ivy posed with her with a smile as Julie took pictures. " Yes it is and your welcome, " she said before looking back at her book. " But...if you were to take anyone else on this romantic ride, who would it be and why?" she asked Julie.

"It is very romantic, but both in a relationship way and in a platonic way." She looked at her friend with a smile. "Are you liking Italy?"

Ivy chuckled " I mean when have I not been kinda in love with my friends. We have hot friends and it's hard not to do some romantic shit together," she shrugged. "Yes, I am loving this. It's as beautiful as Ireland, but with more things going on. Like I said it's very romantic here. For me it's kind sad but...kinda heartwarming," she smiled before looking over at her. " What about you?" she asked.

Aiden looked at Ivy and chuckled. "It is romantic, but I'm glad we're doing this. Not for the romantic part, but because it's just nice to get out and explore."

Ivy flipped the pages of her book to what she bookmarked and smiled. She shrugged her shoulders " Well... whatever happens, happens. Were on a gondola ride through beautiful Venice with romantic soft played music. We might be in love after this boat ride," she joked abit while looking at her book. Then after a bit at him to see the look on his face and smiled big.

"Hmmm, I think it has potential to be romantic, kind of makes me wish I asked Devin to marry me here." He admitted and looked at Ivy and smiled. "You're welcome, thanks for inviting me out."

" Oh asking Devin to marry you here would be a dream for her. But hey, you guys could still actually get married back here in Italy. Have a destination wedding," Ivy said. " Oh it' no biggie. I just didn't want to be weird and be by myself like a loser. So thank you," she smiled at him.

" Yes it does. Why walk when you can just lay back and set sail. We should just take Italy all in and enjoy these moments we have left here," sh said with a smile. " So what are you looking forward to when we get back home?" she asked her.

I want to be on the beach living my richest life in a all glass house, drinking coffee from a mug that says world's most sexiest greatest daughter," Ivy smiled as she nodded her head,imagining it. " But I'm doing better. Just focusing on getting my life back and reporting better material. What about you?" she asked.
