UI/UXe.com 2018
Seems as if there are big visual revamps this year on a few major websites I tend to visit occasionally. This time it is xe(dot)com, the trusted site I usually visit to see currency exchanges. Apart from what Google and Maybank did for their UI update for Gmail and Maybank2U, xe was straight on; providing no welcoming landing page for their users. Although there was no welcoming page to allow users to choose if they wanted to use their “classical UI”, they did provide a persistent Feedback button at the bottom right in case users feel like bashing commenting on the UI update.
To be honest, I do miss their previous white space filled UI. It did provide the ease on my eyes. Positive things though, fonts are a bit bigger now and definitely clearer. They’ve moved the currency exchange form as the first thing we see as compared to the rates and stock graphs of the previous UI. It’ll take a bit to get used to since I’ve only used this site to look at exchange currency so naturally my eyes would fixate at just below the bottom half the screen. Minus points, not really the biggest fan of the gradient header as it feels sort of early 2013 aesthetic.
BIGGER FONT SIZES!
and bigger exchange rates now.Â
*sigh*
