Stop looking for “closure” with people who aren’t keen on giving you it. If they had something to say to you they would’ve already said it. Don’t leave open doors in a closed relationship because you hope they might come back to give you some clarity. The clarity will never come. They’ve made a choice every day to wake up and not contact you, so why leave yourself available to abandonment?
You don’t want “closure” you want an apology or a confession you’re not gonna get.
“[B]ut back then, in those first days, I was so alone that every day was like eating my own heart.”
— Junot Diaz, from This Is How You Lose Her (Riverhead Press, 2012)
