I can’t even believe Ymir saw herself in Mikasa lol

Ymir: Severe Stockholm syndrome, in love with a man who abducted her, killed her parents, raped her, pulled out her tongue, and made their daughters eat her. Took her 2000 years, thousands of pointless deaths, a genocide, eradication of %80 of the people in world, and Mikasa decapitating Eren in front her eyes for her to finally get over her feelings.

And then Mikasa who lost her family when she young, was just in love with the boy who saved her when she was about to be killed and raped, who provided her a home, and welcomed her as family.

They are very similar indeed.....

Well....we all saw this coming at one point....didn’t make it less painful tho....

To me, personally, this was the worst outcome tbh. Out of all the theories that have been around all these years, out of all the predictions, and possible endings, this one was the worst for me.

The reason is, I can’t accept Eren’s tragic ending. Specially in this chapter, it was made clear that his fate was pre-determined by a girl who suffered from Stockholm syndrome! A syndrome so severe that it took her 2000 years, thousands of pointless deaths, a mass genocide, and Mikasa killing Eren to finally get over it. Like...really?!🙄

What was the moral of this ending?

The one boy who lived his entire life fighting for his freedom turned out to be the one completely stuck in the chains of fate.

Although I’m happy that the rest of them are alive, I can’t accept that they get to live at the expense of Eren’s life.

It somehow feels like Isayama wanted to kill Eren one way or another so he came up with this plot to justify it 😑

In any case...one thing is for sure, AOT will remain an epic anime/manga forever. 👊🏻

The only thing that is making me hope there is more to this chaos and that we have to wait for the last chapter to get solid answers is the creepy Ymir that has just been standing there during the entire arc, at every death, observing, or playing with sand....

My thoughts on Ch.178

This chapter would have made a lot more sense if we knew what is it that Yona wants exactly beside just protecting the group.

If she only wants to “protect” the group isn’t going back to the castle where her enemies are far more powerful and far more dangerous the opposite of what she should do? Even if the dragons are more powerful in the castle that doesn’t really apply to Hak & he is in more danger than any of them.

If she‘s not looking to get the throne or get revenge why go back to the castle where she will inevitably confront Suwon and the people who killed her dad and drove her out of the castle? It’s not like she’ll be left alone simply because of the dragons. And it’s not like they’ll set their differences and problems aside and live happily ever after in the castle while protecting the country together lol

Honestly, the only way she can guarantee the safety of the group is by getting the power back from Suwon and if going back to the castle will give her that resolve then so be it.

But if she goes back to the castle and keeps this attitude (i.e., not knowing what exactly she wants to do in the future and moving with the flow in the moment and just “protecting” the people around her as a danger comes along) she’ll lose in this undoubtedly!

She has to make up her mind before a tragedy hits them...
