thisforeverland: I finally developed these photos from when James came to work with us on Walker.

I had the privilege of knowing him not just as an actor, but as a neighbor and a friend. The first time we really spoke, we found ourselves standing together talking about grief. We had both lost our mothers. There was no performance in that moment. Just two guys missing their mom and trying to make sense of life without them. He was open. Present. Generous with his time and his heart.

That was who he was.

When he came onto our set, he brought that same depth with him. There was something quietly powerful about watching him work. I remember thinking how lucky we were to have him, and how much more he was going to create.

I wish the world could have seen where he would have taken that character. I know it would have been magnificent.

These photos feel like small windows into that time. Into his presence. Into his kindness.

He was deeply loved. And he gave that love freely.

I am grateful I got to know him. And I’m praying for the family who lost him too soon.
