Week 24

TECHNICALLY this isn't late, because it isn't Monday yet! This is also another cheat week BUT I saw the full purple palette and had to draw Annora cuz she's literally half purple like that's he whole thing. I've not posted her anywhere yet because I haven't done any renders (and she's a DC oc n I'm kinda scared to post about my dc ocs on main) but she's rendered now! I really really like how this turned out, I'm really proud of myself (and I didn't need any help this time!!)

Week 23

Plant person no3!! Can you tell I prefer plant people over aliens when I have green skintones to work with? I really only got this done because I was bored at work yesterday so I just... rendered it all lol. Super excited for next week's entry (it's another cheat week technically) so that also helped! (Also ignore that this is late)

Week 21

GO FOLLOW @rattydes !!! While I don't mind this palette or design, burnout has made it hard to finish anything lately. I kept trying to start the rendering for this piece, and every time ended up closing ibis before I even started. Shoutout to Des who rendered it for me!! My next few designs resonate with me a little more, so I should be able to finish those ones. Seriously though, go follow her!!

I provided the lineart and flat colors, des did all the other rendering.

Week 20

Got another Monochromatic palette for this week, but it's pink! Insert Clown person (girl, guy, thing? I don't really know! It's up to interpretation lol)

Just adding a note: I've been posting my colored sketches with the palettes instead of the palettes for two reasons; one, it helps with Tumblr's auto-crop, and actually let's people see the full piece without clicking the image, and two, it's an important part of my process and I feel like it should also be shared!

Week 19

Ok so I went a lil crazy with this one. My thoughts were "hmm complementary palette... high contrast... siblings...?" So I did that lol

Really like how they turned out. Both are distinct, and the colors look different on both despite being from the exact same palette!

Week 18

once again plugging @rattydes because MY GOD she helped me so much with this one it's actually insane!! It's another cheat week, but this time it's an old Danganronpa OC of mine; Coraline Constance, the Ultimate Doll Maker

This one was actually done BEFORE week 17, so I ended up getting a lot more help from Des

While she never sent the fixed sketch, I do have her render to compare to my initial sketch (you can tell how heavily I referenced her shading lol). This one is actually insane because I watched her do all that and I STILL don't know how she did all that

Week 17

I will start this entry (and next entry) thanking my bestie @rattydes , who helped me learn to render and fixed my perspective mistakes. This week was kind of a cheat week - as in this is a design I made outside of the palette, HOWEVER I chose this character *because* of the palette. This is Alys, one of my ffxiv characters

Yes, I learned grayscale rendering for the sole purpose of cheating my own challenge.

Down here is my original sketch, compared to how des fixed it (she also rendered part of it so I had something to reference, but I won't share that because it wasn't finished and isn't mine to share). On the left is Des's fixed version of my initial sketch (right)

I love this palette so much (monochrome my beloved) and actually think she turned out really cute!! Her cat-ness totally isn't based off of the miqo'te from ffxiv or anything... 👀
