That couldn’t be good. Giddeon saw the way the other man reacted, and almost swore. “Gus, hey, Gus-” He snapped his fingers and squatted down so he could scratch the side of his dog’s head. That quieted the borzoi almost instantly as his face was then washed and sniffed. “Sorry about him, he just gets excited with other people or anything that moves, really,” He said in a louder voice and at the other person.
“Um. It’s ok.” Jace murmured. Now the dog had quieted, it was ok, he supposed - he didn’t really want to go near it, but it really didn’t look like it was going to be dangerous, as the dog enthusiastically licked its owner’s face. “Um. I guess this... belongs to him. I didn’t... mean to take it.” This was a good experience for him - it had to be. He couldn’t be scared of everything forever, and if he was going to start somewhere, it might as well be with dogs.
