Jordyn: Were you really bad? Did all of your friends take your money? Um.. I'm adorable. What more do I have to do? Isn't that enough?
jack: Why do you assume I was bad? We didn't play for money. You keep saying that like I'll believe you just on faith alone.

Jordyn: What about casinos? Have you been to a casino? You can be so selfish, you know that? Aside from that whole serving our country thing, what have you ever done for me?
jack: The closest I've ever been to a casino is playing poker with some guys in Paktika. You're right. Not a damn thing. Aside from the whole not serving our country what have you done that would warrant me taking care of you? Seems like the opposite should be in play.

Jordyn: Never? Not once? What about like a scratch ticket? How are you going to support me later in life?
jack: Nope. Never. It's a waste of money compared to the probability that I win. Here's the thing... I'm not going to.

Jordyn: I've been at work for two hours and all I've done is star longingly at the outdoors.
Jordyn: If you ever win the lottery will you please pay for me to never have to work again?
jack: Sure thing. Gonna be kinda hard to win though considering I never have entered in a lottery a day in my life. So with that being the case I promise.
The warm weather had seemed to come out of nowhere and with the heat meant work for Jack. The old apartment building was too cheap for central air which meant installing air conditioner units for the tenants. He was outside, sealing off the window when a screwdriver slipped from his sweaty hands. Having not secured the unit yet he couldn’t let go and was thankful, and embarrassed by calling for their help. “Excuse me?” He spoke up. “Would you mind giving me a hand,” he nodded down to the fallen tool.
“Okay, fine.” Alex put down her drink. “I admit that I got a little… intense. But if we didn’t have that idiot on our team wasting our time then we would have won.” She spoke of the trivia game at the bar they had just participated in.
“I don’t know if it’s my place to say anything but saying she was an idiot the first time to her face was probably not the way to go.”
“There’s literally nothing worse than an unsolicited dick pic.”
“Can’t say that is a struggle in which I relate.”
if jane wasn’t working, she was often never found too far from her home. but the office had closed hours ago, and the blonde still had mountains of paperwork to sort through. she found herself in a corner booth at the local coffeehouse, watching the establishment quickly become busy. seeing as the seating was now becoming somewhat limited she offered to the person in nearest earshot, “if you don’t mind my mess, you are more than welcome to sit here and enjoy whatever you ordered.”
Jack had been out running errands for the building when he had stopped in the cafe for a bit of something to hold him over until he could get home and cook dinner. With a muffin and hot tea in hand, he looked over the buzzing business when he heard the woman who must have seen his predicament. “Are you sure? I don’t want to intrude or get crumbs on your work.”
“Oh! Clover no, don’t do that…” Melanie stepped over to the small pom-husky mix puppy that had been tugging on leash in her hand who was now busy chewing on someone’s shoe playfully. She had stopped momentarily to purchase a newspaper from one of the news stands on the Rockford streets, the few seconds it took enough for Clover to find a new distraction She bent down to scoop the dog up into her arms and offered an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, she’s still in training and anything at ground level is a chew toy to her.”
He was sitting on the bench taking in the sunlight that was more than welcomed after a long winter. He had barely noticed the small tug at his feet at first, his face falling down on the dog. “To be fair to her, I was tapping my foot a bit. That is basically taunting to any dog so really I should apologize.”
“No I’m sorry that’s my fault, work has just been crazy. I promise I’ll be there… no I won’t reschedule again.” She said ending the call and shaking it off. “Sorry, you were saying?”
“Well, it’s just-” he hesitated before stepping forward and taking out a dead blossom that had seemed to fall into hair from the trees. “I apologize if that was meant to be there,” he showed her the small flower before tossing it.
“When one of your cooks sets fire to the kitchen so you have to take the next two days off… what is there to even do during the week? I think I’ve forgotten.”
“Are you the said cook?”
