Bella kept her eyes on the floor, moving out of the way when someone needed through the door. She sucked her lips between her teeth, before answering every question he had. He deserved that much. “I’m back because I didn’t have anywhere else to go,” she said, before slowly continuing. “About a month ago.”

Jack followed her movements, still completely baffled from seeing Bella once again. He really didn’t know if he should hug her or be mad at her for not telling him how long she’s actually been here. He decided not to do either. “What about your home? Your mom didn’t want you staying with her anymore?” He asked, practically shaking. He felt like he’d seen a ghost. “A month? Why didn’t you tell me you were back sooner?”

All Bella wanted was coffee. She had a rough night, up for hours writing for this damn article about nothing new, because nothing new happens in Kingston. She needed a pick me up. Not a drag me down. Yet, here he was, in all his cute and nerdy glory, standing in front of her, looking at her like she was a ghost. “I-. I live here,” she trailed off, looking at the ground with a bright red face.
