Jack’s whole face brightened as he watched realization dawn on the other boy. He could practically see the belief light up, and the winter spirit very nearly bounced on the balls of his feet in the still-thrilling excitement of being looked at instead of looked through. 

"There you go!" he cheered. "That wasn’t so hard, was it? Or do you need another snowball?"

Oh, right, the fictional spirit was talking to him. Nothing to do but talk back, it would seem. Real casual like, just a normal conversation with Jack Frost himself.

"Nah, sure, not hard at all!" Dodger grumbled. "It only cost me a mild concussion. Does your sort usually show up with blunt force trauma?"

No matter how Dodger grumbled and groaned, it was hard to stay pissy in the face of such obvious happiness. Jack Frost seemed rather pleased, and Dodger's only true "trauma" was perhaps a blow to his pride at being taken by surprise.

"Guess I have to be more careful," he said, lightening up with a chuckle. "Can't go around cursing off the elements anymore. Though maybe I'll get lucky, next time it'll just be the Easter Bunny."

No harm in dealing with a little bunny, right?
