Offerings to the beast is an AU i have made of LOTF, it contains cannibalism and cult like behavior, that will be described as we continue on! you have been warned.
To start off, it begins as the book does normally, the plane crash and all that, until the fear of the beast starts to set in, that is where it strays from canon more and becomes cult like. In a desperate attempt to steer the group away from Ralph, Jack turns to religion, telling them that god had spoken to him, that they MUST hunt and kill the beast, or they would never be rescued. That they must perform ritualistic events and offer their sacrifices of dead pigs to the pig head. With that, it continues on as normal, except the other boys begin to worship Jack, worship him as someone who kill the beast and save them all. Eventually, we get to when Simon discovers the “beast” is merely a dead parachuter, it follows canon, yet instead of merely beating him to death, they mutilate and decapitate him. They truly believe he’s the beast, even though he is a human, they don’t see him such. They all see a beast, an animal that must be killed. Once he is killed, they wonder, what do they do with him? So, they decide they need food. They eat him. This symbolizes their full break away from humanity, into savagery, into complete survival mode. After eating literal human flesh, it gets to them. They crave more, they realize that human meat is much more filling than pig meat. So Jack decides, they should get someone else. Someone who is weak, someone who contributes nothing to them. They decide on Piggy. By now, mostly everyone is listening to EVERYTHING Jack says. He killed the beast, after all! Once they decide, they hunt Piggy. They get him, and they eat him as well. Holding another sort of ritualistic feast, and that is how the naval officer finds them. Gathered around a fire, cooking human flesh, listening to a child in a flower crown and face paint relay how he had killed the beast. How he had made them all free.
