thinking of david tennants acting when the entity on midnight possesses him like!!! the way hes fucking shaking!!! the wide eyes!!! the way he holds himself like hes held up by strings, the sweat, the spit on his lips..... fucking terrified!!! absolutely cannot think of ANY other time the doctor is THIS powerless and THIS scared and THIS much at the mercy of those around him!!!
and when hes being carried to the exit, he just manages to look at the hostess like "see!! dont u see? u get it! u get whats happening, i know u do!!"
when he returns to donna at the end, the shell shocked, dissociated look on his face!! when he hugs him, the way hes almost suprised when he hugs her back!!!
when theyre talking at the table, and she tries to shake him out of it, jokes "cant imagine u w/o a voice" the very tired but still wry smile he gives her, he knows exactly what shes doing and he loves her for it, that hint of a real smile there, disbelieving cheekiness on his face.
then the last moment of the ep, he looks away from donna, away and down at the ground as even the music repeats and repeats and u know that this isnt an adventure hes going to just skip away from, this shit DEEPLY affected him the likes of which i hadnt seen since maybe doomsday? the last time we see that spaced out, empty, guilty look on his face. where is the bafta. where is the oscar
