there was an additional scene of Simon fending off an ice bull when he goes to see ice thing but it got cut for time. same for another scene of Cake walking with the PA in the studio. scenes often get cut for time or pacing, but it's all part of the process! I still try to share the drawings if they came out cute : )

I love your F&C promo art! I was wondering, are the backgrounds on them ever real places or do you just draw whatever pretty stuff comes into your mind?

I actually based them off photos I’ve taken on trips. the first one is based on a photo from Olympic National Park in Washington, and a couple others are photos from a beach in San Diego. backgrounds are not usually my forte, so I like to take a lot of photos to find inspiration.

the way you draw concept art has inspired me to do the same and experiment with several ideas. it also makes it clear that even if it doesn’t work the first time, it will eventually. you’ve helped drag me back into that beautiful world of creation again. thank you

Do you have any personal headcanons about Fionna & Cake?

hmm i dunno! maybe for small things...like I'd like to think Fionna gets a sword tattoo one day, or maybe a Cake that swirls along her leg as opposed to Finn's chest tattoo

I think my favorite part about tumblr is that so many creators trying to get themselves out there are here, I forget that professionals make accounts too— I’m always finding contributors to my favorite shows out in the wild posting their own art and doodles and it makes me so happy 💞 Love the way you draw Fionna 😋
