While reading the article called Exploring Arts- Based inquiry for social justice in graduate education i was instantly hit with some words i was questionable on like Ethnodrama which is the performance 'text' and when it is performed the descriptive term shifts to ethnotheatre. i started with the quote “ I think that an art-based approach forces me to involve my emotions, and impact myself in my research”. while reading that article i started to think about the different ways of learning using arts and even changing the classroom setting or factors can change the way the child learns. My next quote was “ having said that dominate understandings of what is beautiful or power artistically are laced with histories of racism, sexism, colonialism, homophobia, xenophobia, and classism”. This quote is where i sadly started become very confused with the article even though i like that thoughts of using arts in the classroom. one of the last quotes i read almost gave me empowerment to open up and look at learning a different way and so i started seeking out different learning methods for my class the quote said “ her approach is self reflexive embodied, informed by a vision and commitment to social justice, while at the same time it gives me important information about her experience with the class”
