jackiepoole:
Jackie snorted and made an eye roll at his examination of the device. She was still going to attempt to fix it, regardless of what he said. Mason was right about a lot of things, which was incredibly annoying. But she wasn’t going to give him he satisfaction. “I’m not throwing it away. I have until tomorrow to have it done anyway, so I can just.. push it aside and party with you,” she smirked as she took the device and placed it inside of a drawer for later. She wasn’t surprised when he didn’t seem as intrigued by her story. Mason was practical, a realist, not having time for nonsense and anything that was actually fun when it came to history. Everything was to be taken seriously. “Something that is incredibly true. There’s books and articles and actual proof about this story, asshole. Just because you haven’t heard about it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist,” she reached up and placed a hand on the side of his face, “Unfortuntely you can’t know everything, sweet cheeks.” She grinned and gave his cheek a little smack.
No matter what she said, Mason was getting annoyed. He needed his fix, and Jackie was taking too long. “Good. Push it aside and let’s go, I need my daily dose of Jack, and my daily does of Jackie.” He half teased. Mason tried listening to her ridiculous excuses, but he still wouldn’t buy it. “There is nothing about this story that seems even a little bit believable, but does it really matter what I believe, you’re going to tell it anyway.” Which was true, the minute Mason didn’t believe something, Jackie would try to tell everyone. It annoyed him to no end, but Mason quite liked the effort she always put in to annoy him. Mason wouldn’t be where he was today without Jackie always pushing his buttons. Mason smirked as her hand smacked his cheek. He immediately grabbed it, his reflexes fast, and began to pull her away from the counter. “Okay, enough chit chat. Let’s go get drunk please. Or at least watch me get drunk.”
With the quickness of Mason grabbing her hand, Jackie’s smile was wiped away from a moment as he suggested they go and drink the night away. “Lucky for you, I have a brand new bottle of bourbon waiting for me upstairs,” she finally smiled, sliding away from him and moving towards the back of the shop that would lead up to her apartment. Before going through the door, she looked over her shoulder, “Are you coming?” She smirked before shutting off the lights of the shop.
After a short time, they were both upstairs. Jackie was in her room getting herself ready for the night out, which meant that she had left Mason in the living room. She was sure he would help himself to the bourbon while he waited, so she was trying to speed up her routine. However, it seemed she wasn’t fast enough. When she returned to the living room all dolled up, she saw Mason on the couch with a glass in hand and the bottle of booze half gone. “Oh, Mace,” she sighed, moving closer towards him. “You just can’t seem to pace yourself, can you?” She chuckled lightly, plopping on the couch next to him.
