i kno posts like this are meant to be positive and nice but like… medications arent a nice pure glass of water theyve got all sorts of social and historical baggage. uwu stay medicated is not a trend we should be getting on

Okay but I don’t care about nebulous baggage, I care about my neurochemical state permitting me to retain executive function so I can be a relatively competent human being who feels like life is pretty okay at least some of the time. So I will absolutely uwu stay medicated and the many other people whose lives would be better if they took their meds should absolutely uwu stay medicated, and I wish to strongly urge everyone else to uwu stop and think critically before you blithely parrot baseless handwringing rooted in the bizarre social stigma against literally just taking medicine for illnesses.

my cat needs surgery and I am poor

I adopted Vampira in November of 2015. My therapist and I decided that I was in need of an emotional support animal, and that is what Vamps became. I don’t have any family, so she is my support system. Unfortunately, since adopting her, I have had persistent financial struggles and both she and I had to sacrifice going to the doctor for check-ups. Now we are doing better and slowly getting out of the financial hole, and we've been playing catch-up with our medical needs. I recently found out that Vamps is in need of dental surgery. While I am doing better money-wise, I can't quite make the payment for this. I set my donation goal at half of the cost for her surgery, and I will cover the other half. Vampira is very important to me, as most people know. She has been with me through poverty and homelessness, and she is the primary reason my thoughts of suicide have lessened. She keeps me healthy, and I would like to do the same for her. Any little bit helps, and even if you cannot donate, shares are appreciated. Thank you all so much, Jackie and Vampira

Fun Vampire Fact; the reason that Vampires traditionally cannot see their reflections in a mirror is because mirrors used to be backed with a reflective layer of silver — which, as the metal of purity, would not ‘interact’ with Vampires, who are the Devil’s work.

However, modern mirrors have used aluminum as their reflective backing for many years now — and aluminum is not a ‘picky’ metal at all. So Vampires are able to see their reflections in modern mirrors.

All I can think about is a vampire used to not seeing their reflection in mirrors for centuries, and one day they are just walking along and unknowingly pass a mirror backed with aluminum and THEY NEARLY SHIT THEMSELVES.

And film was exposed using silver in the emulsion fluid for old photographs. But with more advanced photographic technology and things like digital cameras theres no need to use silver in the printing process.
