Listen this audio we can be sure that Michael Jackson's art was for everyone, but he was a very pround black man who was very aware about the racism against black people. It's such a shame that some white people are twisting his words like he was color blind creature in his fandom, Michael was a massive plataform against descrination in his community and was persecuted for It!
For all the nonblack fans, Michael was not colorblind in any capacity. Did he strive for racial unity? Yes but he was hyper aware of his place in the world as a Black Man and held just as much concern for Black Women. What many of you choose to ignore is Michael’s prolific Pro Black activism. So when we correct you for misinterpreting lyrics in his songs or purposefully twisting his words to fit your own colorblind narrative, we take issue with it. Remember his fandom has historically always been a Black American space so please be respectful and stop overstepping.
michael jackson was a BLACK MAN. yall need to remember that. yes his music was and is for everyone but make sure y’all remember he is a black man before anything else, and he experienced the black man struggles!! i see too many people that seem to forget that whether it’s because of his vitiligo or whatever else.
Adding onto this+
Yes, Michael was famous, but at the end of the day people still saw him as just a black man.
In Jermaines book (You are not Alone), he wrote how Michael wanted a pet llama so they both went to an animal lot in Cali. When they got there the seller was already suspicious of them and told them "We're not hiring." Michael told them they weren't looking for a job and he wanted to buy a llama. The man dismissed them and said he didn't have any (but they did.)
He then went on to ask Michael did he know how much they cost. Michael was patient with this ass of an hole and nodded. The man then asked questions some more, along the lines of "Can you afford it? What do you boys do to afford a llama?"
The man then asked for some ID from Michael and he said, "Yall them Jackson boys?" All of a sudden his attitude changed. He seemed much more careful and light hearted with them. Michael and Jermaine left and bought a llama somewhere else.
Point being, never forget that the first thing #they see you as is a nigga. Doesn't matter how rich, pretty or handsome you are. They see your skin first .
#StoryofOJ
They hated to see a nigga win. All those allegations they put up against Michael was the same shit that #they were doing behind closed doors. It was all projection. At the end of the day...it's always #them anyways.
call me crazy but him being overprotective about his fans is so hot, like it shouldn’t be hot but it is hot. i know his voice was probably sharp and deep as fuck here too.
i wish y’all would stop mentioning how michael’s music is for everyone and how he loves everyone regardless of races whenever us black people mention non black fans stepping over boundaries. this kinda feels like a form of manipulation having to constantly hear something like that, especially when your favorite writer is being called out. i’m seeing LOTS of y’all defend it and it’s okay to call out your friends/favorite writers, i promise you you don’t need to hold their hand, they’re grown and need to take accountability for themselves. and you should also educate them if they’re not understanding anything in regards to black fans. everybody is human and makes mistakes, but if you’re coddling and babying them, they will not learn and will only hide behind you whenever they get called out. do better.
sincerely, a tired black woman.
"Why doesn't no one talk much about otw michael/afro michael" bc #they don't like remembering that he's black helllooooooooooo
Funky Cold Medina🫰🏽✌🏽❤️🖤🩶
and to make it worse, i see so many of us (not me tho) coddling that heifer…please stand up yall
and to the people who keep saying “oh this needs to be over with so i can go back to reading fics”
i see who you are.
All I'm going to say about ebonymuse/michaelmuse is that I'm disappointed but not surprised. I fully believe she knew exactly what she was doing. It's the same song and dance and the same recycled bullshit excuses, citing ignorance and not being educated as a reason for how they portrayed themselves. It's annoying to see different versions of the same apology regurgitated over and over again.
This unfortunately happens in a lot of fandoms where blackfishing or blatant racism/anti-blackness/micro agressions are common against black fans, but to use it in a community for a Black artist???
Insane.
I maintain that Michael's vitiligo has white folk forgetting he's a black man and that, for some reason, has enabled some of y'all to act out the side of y'alls asses.
Ebony is for your hair, my ass.
I can't help but notice everytime a bm gets famous ww are constantly thrown at them....it's weird. (yall make sure to cover all the yt women michael has 'dated' but leave all the black ones out of the frame. #hmmmm...)
