while protestors are out on the streets asking justice for breonna taylor's murder, louisville law enforcement has senselessly murdered another black man, david mcatee. he was the owner of a bbq restaurant and he was literally at the protests feeding people when he was killed after law enforcement blindly shot into a crowd!! his family says he was shot while trying to protect his niece!! he was known to feed police officers for free!! he was a good, kind man! say his name!!

important reminder that his murder occurred a 10 minute drive (or approx. 40 min walk) away from the protest sites... in a black neighborhood. his body was left out in the streets for nearly 12 hours. the officers who shot him were not wearing / did not activate their body cameras... so there is no evidence of the shooting.

you can sign a petition to bring justice to david and his family, by requesting the louisville mayor to take appropriate action by making sure the killer is identified and arrested.

Throughout history, man's inhumanity to man was never more cruel and gruesome than in the medical experiments performed on countless women, children and men who, most often due to their marginalized status in society,were powerless to defend themselves from these monsters in white coats who carried out the most unimaginably painful and sadistic procedures on their bodies all in the name of medical progress. Perhaps few experiments were more sadistic than those performed by Dr. James Sims, who perfected his gynaecological surgical techniques on enslaved Áfrican-American women without the use of any anesthesia. The procedures were known to be among the most painful experiences the human body could ever undergo. I can't imagine just how terrifying and overwhelming this horrific experience would have been. I believe we need to honor these women and credit them instead of the evil monster who tortured them

The American-born world renowned Black bisexual dancer, actress, singer, civil rights champion, and WWII French resistance agent rose to fame in the 1920s and quickly became one of the most famous entertainers in her adopted home of France. Pablo Picasso and Earnest Hemingway were also huge fans.

The artist told us a little about why Baker inspires her:

Though she fled the oppression she faced in America in 1925 to live the majority of her life in France, she returned often to fight for civil rights, speaking alongside Martin Luther King Jr. at the March on Washington. I remember a documentary hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. that focused on the unyielding determination of formerly enslaved African-Americans to reunite with lost family members during the aftermath of slavery. Despite the seemingly impossible odds, I was amazed to see just how many people were able to find eachother often thousands of miles away and without the aid of telephone, internet, automobiles, directories,etc. Many times people changed their names in assertion of their independence and freedom, and this often complicated the search even more. Unfortunately, for the vast majority of people, the quest to locate lost family members was unsuccessful, and millions of parents and children and siblings and spouses spent the rest of their lives never knowing what became of their missing family members. I can't even begin to imagine the intensity of pain and sorrow it was to have your child or mother or husband torn from your arms and sold away never to be seen again. Everything about slavery was a sin - an unforgivable sin - and one of the most destructive forces to ever hit the family unit with effects that are still very much alive today.

This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property, between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them, becomes that between employer and hired labor. The Freedmen are advised to remain at their present homes and work for wages. They are informed that they will not be allowed to collect at military posts; and they will not be supported in idleness either there or elsewhere.

Juneteenth is not only a day of celebration, it is a day of reflection, contemplation, discussion and, most importantly, ACTION. The practice of slavery has its roots in ancient and possibly prehistoric times and is found in most cultures throughout the world. The enslavement of African-Americans, however, was the most significant in terms of contemporary ideas about race because it was the FIRST and ONLY time in WORLD HISTORY that the practice of slavery was legislatively stipulated to be based exclusively on racial identity AND to be imposed on future generations indefinitely or forever based on the status of the mother. This mandate was adopted and approved for legislation by the colony of Virginia in 1683 and became federal law immediately following the Revolutionary War. Slave status was determined by the status of the mother. This was to ensure that children fathered by white fathers and Black mothers would not be free, which was the common custom previously. Why the change? The rape of Black women by the white master was so common that in the colony of Virginia, for example, the population of American born slaves increased from 2% of the population in 1745 to 80% by 1783. Of these children, nearly 75% were mixed, and by the early 19th century it wasn't uncommon to see enslaved people with ivory skin and blonde hair. In summary, the laws were designed not only to designate an entire race to the status of slave but to ensure the enslavement of future offspring AND to implement a breeding farm system so to speak wherein the master could feasibly produce his own slaves and thus make more profit.

Profit. Slavery was all about money. To give you an idea just how valuable slaves were to the US economy not to mention the world's economy, by 1845, enslaved African-Americans accounted for 80% of the nation's assets and produced 75% of the nation's wealth. No "asset" has ever comprised that much of any nation's economy before or since. Scary.

I appeal to all my fellow rednecks and cowboys and mountain folk and everyone to take some time to reflect on your role in eliminating racism, colonized thinking and white supremacy from our collective social consciousness and our society in whole. Please do your part in whatever way you're called to. This is important. This ain't something that's gonna blow over and we all go back to our privileged oppressive arrogant white supremacist social stratification. No. Never again.

Before he was apprehended, Carrillo scrawled the word “boog” and “I became unreasonable” in blood on the hood of a car. “Boog” is short for boogaloo, a far-right anti-government movement that began on the extremist site 4chan and aims to start a second American civil war.

The phrase “I became unreasonable” has become a meme in public Boogaloo communities on Facebook, which discuss weapons and fantasize about a second civil war. One recent meme on Facebook shows a man holding a Boogaloo flag at a protest, along with the phrase “Become unreasonable.”

“I became unreasonable” is a reference to a quote written by Marvin Heemeyer, an anti-government extremist who bulldozed 13 buildings in Granby, Colorado, in retribution for a zoning dispute. Heemeyer killed himself after the rampage, which occurred on June 4, 2004, almost 16 years to the day of Carrillo’s attack.

Heemeyer is known by the nickname Killdozer in extremist groups online and is frequently quoted in Boogaloo Discord chats and Facebook groups.

I am all too familiar with Boogaloo and I tell you they're crazy and dangerous as fu**! Here in my neck of the woods, the Klan has always been a constant threat although for the most part they've been mostly a social group made up of bigoted yet nonviolent old white "good ole boys." (This is changing however as tensions escalate and some former Klansmen have been rekindling their old pack and this could be dangerous). Boogaloo, HOWEVER, has become popular seemingly overnight and has attracted the younger and more violence prone racists who accuse the Klan of being a "sell out" group of "pu**ies." Anyone who considers the klan to be a sell out is definitely not right in the head. They're sick and have no respect for life.

As I reflect on all the happenings of the past few months, I am totally perplexed and fastly becoming disillusioned. Racially fueled police brutality. Elderly nuns and grandmothers getting clubbed, kicked, and pepper sprayed outside of their church per orders of our nation's president. Native Americans being once again forced off their land as their population dwindles at an ungodly high rate due to disease.

WHAT THE F*** IS GOING ON?

This ain't 1492.

This ain't 1890.

This ain't even 1964.

This is 2020.

The only time our children should even hear the terms "lynching" or "forced relocation of Native Americans" or see images of old ladies getting clubbed and punched and hosed down by cops is in school during HISTORY CLASS. But they don't even need to go to History class anymore because it's happening live outside our windows.

I think I need to go take a long drive out in the boondocks and play some Marvin Gaye and Nina Simone and let my soul figure some sh#t out.

Helen Keller has been immortalized in the American story for her uncanny ability to master the art of language and communication without the aid of sight or sound, but most of us are not familiar with her highly radical social and political activism. She was a staunch Socialist (during an era when that was quite dangerous), a suffragette, a civil rights activist, and was a strongly devoted advocate for poor people's rights, workers rights, African-American equality, women's reproductive rights, and animal rights. She fiercely opposed the elite class who monopolized all of the wealth and forced the majority of Americans into poverty. Keller, who incidentally was born into a prominent, excessively wealthy slave owing family of the elite class, rejected her family's lavish lifestyle and glutton wealth that, according to her, had been unethically gained through the brutalization, dehumanization and forced labor of African- Americans and the exploitation and degradation of unmarried expecting women and impoverished British indentured servants. Helen Keller was a true Warrior and champion of the people.

Don't question it. Don't second guess it. Don't rationalize it. Don't go with what someone else or everybody else says. Even if it defies all laws of physics, spirit and humanity, just fu##ing do it. Indigenous people, Enlightened monks, philosophers, Mambas, Houngans, seers and Shamans all throughout the world rely on their gut reaction to guide them through everything they do. This is how and why uncontacted Indigenous tribes have survived tens of thousands of years (the San people of southern Africa have maintained their beautiful and fruitful way of life for over 100,000 years! We as Americans have been here only a little less than 250 years and today we are at the brink of extinction. We need to learn from the San people and follow accordingly.

Listen to your gut. It is always giving you the right answer.

This is so disgusting to watch. They are 12 year-old boys, who “matched the description” and had to experience this horror. A little boy crying scared to death and the other one telling him to stop , because he wants to stay alive is what makes me cry. Am I PROUD of being white? HELL NO!

I'm a white Southern boy descended from a long line of proud, white, confederate flag waiving, white cross burning, slave owning, Dixieland loyalists who made a fortune off the forced uncompensated labor of Black folks stolen from their homes in Africa and sold on auction blocks like hogs and cattle. This very land on which I'm comfortably sitting upon in my family's home is the same land that's been passed down from father to son generation after generation since 1784 when my great(/x4)grandfather, Col. William Adrienne Channing ordered his men to slaughter the small village of peaceful Indigenous Natchez families whose ancestors had lived there for tens of thousands of years. This phone I'm typing on is mine because of commercial crops grown on land drenched in the blood of little kids and grandmothers and proud daddies who woke up one morning to find themselves surrounded and barricaded by a few dozen white men armed with muskets and swords and knives. It took less than 5 minutes. Not one life was spared. I have this 509$ phone because Black women and girls as young as 3 were brutally raped and beaten by my great (2) grandfather who fathered over 100 babies he didn't think twice about tearing away from its mother's breast and trading for a cigarette.

Am I supposed to be PROUD of this? Fu*k that sh*t. And fu*k apologizing. Instead I vow to actively do something to combat racial injustice and make a real difference.
