If…if you’re okay with it, baby, then yes. I—I’d like that a lot. I’ve wanted it for so long now, Jackson…
...So have I, Luciana. I...love you, you know.
You’re such a boy, ugh. It is because you can find things in mythology that exist in all cultures. All of the gods basically have similar counterparts in every other major religion. It’s so cool when you make the connections.
I pride myself on my male-ness, actually! I think the ladies like it, at the very least. And you have a point there, actually; people transition mythology and old books and shit to modern re-tellings all the time.
I’m fine without getting a gift, don’t go through any trouble for it. Yeah, I’ve been trying to break through my allergy to taking pictures of people. It’s been going surprisingly well, and I’ve got a portfolio going that may just get me a job around Malibu. Speaking of those, do you have a job currently? Well, if Luciana is as daring as you say she is, I think she’ll have no trouble at all with that idea. And if if you’re really as into her as you seem, I’m sure your artwork will turn out just right.
I want to, though...get you a gift, I mean. You're my friend, after all--maybe I could make you something? Like a painting or portrait or some sort? I'm glad you're working through it! You should really consider pursuing it to the big leagues; like invest in a few photography classes or go to an art fair or something. And I do, yeah; I work at one of the bars on campus--got a bunch of grumpy Irishmen running the joint, but otherwise it's pretty relaxed. Luciana's a ball-buster, I'll give you that. And thank you...I think I'll try and capture her one day and give it to her as a present.
Oh, just you wait till the Christmas decorations go up. The engineering department, and my class in particular, has put in an extraordinary amount of effort to make sure Briarwood will be the spectacle of Malibu. Speaking of projects, have you done any intriguing activities in your art classes recently? Well, I would be a fool not to notice my roommate is beautiful, but you seem to be taking it to a whole new level there, Jackson. Maybe you just invite her over and get her to pose for you. It would be very…enlightening for both of you, I think. Just a suggestion, of course.
Damn, Christmas; nearly forgot about that! Now I'm gonna have to start stressing out about what to buy people--anything in particular you want for the holidays, Penelope? I'm sure it looks great around her during the winter, though--I'm excited to see what the university has in store. And nothing too intriguing--I've been working with digital art recently, but other than that, it's pretty much the same old, same old. You still doing your photography thing? And ah...d'you think sh'ed do that? Pose for me, I mean...she'd make a beautiful sketch. If I could only get it right.
You’re welcome. He’s one of the main three gods, a son of Uranus. He’s an interesting character, I’m not surprised. I’ve always liked the muses, liked what they represented and how their personalities could be specific to their art form or totally different.
Ha. Hahaha. Son of Uranus. Damn, I'm still a kid at heart. That really is interesting, though--I think mythology in general is cool as hell.
I…I do, Jackson. I really, really do.
Can we…can we go all the way?
...Wait. Wait. Really?!
…All over me, Jackson? Does that included…you know…below my waist?
...Do you want it to be below your waist?
In honor of the mythology theme that's been carried around campus lately, I spent some time creating this Hades and Persephone piece. All rape and sexual assault in ancient mythology aside, I've always been fascinated by the concept of Hades' character and the woman who embodied everything he wasn't.
This might not be how most picture them, but...it's how I see them.

The clubs at Briarwood never fail to amaze, it seems. Even the fashion club pulled together some spare outfits for those who couldn’t afford any, which was very gracious of them. Fired up, huh? Well then, I’m sure you two will have a very memorable time the night of. You ever plan on drawing her soon? Given you’re an art major, it seems like the logical thing to do.
I really like the sense of community around this place; it's not very often that you get to meet a group of people so dedicated on making sure everyone has a great time at events and stuff. I've...done a few sketches with her in mind, yeah; sometimes I think she's too beautiful to attempt to transfer onto paper.
Well if you insist. Very good solider, have a good time! Yeah, but think of all the people Hades could talk to You could talk to great historical figures. Hear a dirty joke from Aristotle or a poetry reading from Sophocles.
We had a wonderful time, thanks for wishing us luck. And true, you're right about that; Hades has a hell of a lot of power, and that's really what initially drew me to him. That, and the fact that I've always found stories about him to be really interesting.
Keep Calm and Carry On || Caitlin & Jackson
Jackson glanced down as Caitlin reached for a scrap of paper and quickly wrote her number down on it; ordinarily, he would’ve gone out of his way to make sure that she knew he was taken and wasn’t interested in starting up a fling or something, but…Caitlin hadn’t given him that sort of impression. She seemed like a genuinely laid back, cool sort of person to potentially hang out with again in the future, so when she’d finished scribbling down her number for him, Jackson took it with a grin, slight inclination of his head, and then stuffed the piece of paper down into one of his pant pockets so that he wouldn’t lose it. He snorted when she insinuated that he wouldn’t be able to give her his number in return; that was pretty obvious.
"No worries, I can just contact you and set up a time for us to hang out again," Jackson managed with a shrug, letting her know it didn’t bother or affect him too harshly. He hesitated when she spoke again, nodding once when she asked if he was living on campus. "Yeah, actually…I’m living in a dorm for now, but I hope that next year I might be able to graduate on up to living in an on campus apartment. I hear they’re bigger and a hell of a lot nicer. What about you? Got a place here on campus, or do you commute?"
Caitlin was kind of pleased Jackson looked happy to take her number. She wasn’t usually so bold, but something told her Jackson would be a good friend. He’d already made her feel better, she was much less angry now. Her own brother found it difficult to calm her at times, but Jackson had no problem. Even if it wasn’t intentional. He was nice, and that was a big thing for her. He’d talked to her first, another thing she liked.
"Great, good plan." Caitlin grinned when Jackson said he’d contact her and not to worry about getting his number. He seemed like a man of his word. "I’m in a dorm too. Wouldn’t mind an apartment either though." She’d been shown around an apartment on the one trip out here, before she’d decided it was the place for her. "I was shown round one during my trip here for my interview. They’re massive." It was only now she realised her yelling must have stopped him on his way somewhere. "Oh, where were you off to? We can start walking if you like? I don’t want to hold you up."
Maybe it was simply part of his naturally laid back nature, but Jackson Williams found it strikingly easy to get along with...well, most anybody. He had issues with people who were haughty; people who thought themselves the best at everything. He didn't respect spoiled brats, and he didn't want anything to do with people who received free handouts in society and weren't appreciative of their privilege. But for the most part, he got along rather well with the people he ran into on a day-to-day basis; Caitlin, for instance, though pissed as hell when he'd first met her half an hour or so ago, seemed to be a genuinely kind and interesting sort of person.
And, as an added plus, she hadn't attempted to hit on him or make things awkward between the two of them. Now that Jackson was...committed to someone else (is that what he was supposed to call it?), advances from other women was both unwarranted and unnecessary.
He was pleased to say that Caitlin didn't even seem to have anything like that on her mind.
"Maybe one day we'll get apartments of our own," Jackson supplied with a shrug. "For now, though, dorm life seems to be where it's at." He laughed when she mentioned how massive the apartments were, nodding when the young woman gestured that they start walking. He pointed in the general direction of his dorm and continued on with--"I'd actually better start heading back to my place. I've got somewhere to be this evening and I get the feeling I'd be in trouble if I was late."
I didn’t come up with it, but thanks. Yes, I want a full report, mister! Yeah, but I’m a lot of big talk, I don’t think I’d actually want to bother them like that. Yeah, I’m a Muse, there are nine of us.
You should take credit for it anyway; it was a pretty good innuendo. And I'll be sure to report back to you with full details on what happened, ma'am yes ma'am! A Muse? Interesting...sounds a lot happier than my title for this event. Ruler of the Deceased.
So you…you do like my costume, Jackson? I wanted to make sure that I looked the part, especially considering how handsome my king is proving to be all dressed up like this.
I love your costume, little Lark. Then again, though, I've found that you're always gorgeous...regardless of what you are (or aren't) wearing. And handsome, hmm? Keep talking like that and I'll have my hands all over you.
Incest…not usually, but how often do you get to be a Greek? I have quite a few kinks that I’m into, but this is one that can definitely wait for another time. Why, are you looking for things to try with one Luciana Lark? Because I promise you, she’s so more daring than she may seem.
Very true--it's a great party, really; I'm psyched as hell that the Latin club or whatever was able to put something like this together. And I...you could say that; Luciana gets me all fired up unlike anyone else. Amazing, really, for someone as small as she is. She's proving herself to be very daring, actually.
…There won’t be much for you to take off, Jackson, because…um…well, I went out of my way to make sure that my outfit was…for lack of a better word, very risque for you. So much so that you might not even need to undress me when we go back to your dorm at the end of the evening.
...I won't lie to you, Luciana. I like the sound of that.
I’m sure there will some other collaborations that will be sure to make the night more exciting, but Mack and I won’t be part of that. I’m going as Athena and Mack’s going as Zeus…which sort of makes me his daughter. But that isn’t going to stop me from being with him! I could swing by during the party and introduce you two. Of course, I’d be sure I wasn’t interrupting between you and my roommate first.
So, into the whole "incest" thing, are you? Or maybe you like the daddy kink, Cadwell? Either way, I'm excited to see you and your man candy! I'm sure Luciana and I both would love to spend some time with the two of you.
Mhmm. It’s like that quote, What do we say to the god of death? It’s September, get ready to slam me like a screen door in a hurricane! I don’t know where I can get a harem. I think I’ll just go and hope to see my sisters there.
Haha, I can't say I've heard that saying, but I sure as hell love it! I'm not sure how well my girlfriend will receive it, though...I'll tell her about it and then get back to you. What do you mean you don't see?! Look around, man; you're in college! Loads of dudes and babes around every corner! Your sisters?
