We can't be frustrated Jacob and Delainey weren't nominated for big awards after their stellar performances because Sam got one and we should celebrate the show getting any kind of recognition
On the other hand, we can't complain Assad, Eric and/or Ben aren't even submitted for best supporting/guest actor categories alongside with Sam, which would also increase the chances pf nominations for the show... Let's not talk about the hipocrysy here either!
We also shouldn't point out Armand being left out of the SDCC posters, even though he was part of them and they had no problems using his photos in 2023, because "it's the loustat show" (ignore that he's the third actor on the credits and 1/2 of the highlights of one of their biggest episodes)
We can't talk about how they went as far picking an episode still of Lestat alone, not even an official poster featuring most of the cast, to use at an event
We can't be disappointed with Mark Johnson's tone deaf joke about the success of the show being "all Sam" because we're too stupid or dramatic
We can't call people out when they fucking go to a plantation as if they're attending a parade, improvising a silly photoshoot with white little loustat dolls, making enough noise in New Orleans that multiple natives came here to vent and even a foreign media outlet talked about it because it will make things weird on set and might affect friendships :(... I mean, why would it impact friendships if there's real respect and solidarity there?
We can't remember how Naomi, a black woman and host of their official podcast, had same podcast canceled out of the blue without any explanation of the reason why
We can't talk about them only using Sam for all events now, because AMC, a millionaire network with prestige and Emmy-winning shows can't afford paying for more than one person to attend events... Ignore the fact they don't do it for any other show, specially all their other shows with highly white ensembles
We can't be suspicious that Jacob retweeted a post criticizing that... Yes, it could've been an accident or maybe he just didn't want to get attacked and undid it. But nevermind! We shouldn't even discuss that in the first place!
We can't point out media outlets discussing the show and even using Assad's pictures, but not mentioning his name... We should be thankful he's part of the show, asking for any acknowledgment of his hard work is too demanding and unrealistic
We can't complain about people not even saying his name right, be glad they're even speaking to/about him actually
We can't remember how people told Naomi before she interviewed Jacob on the podcast "not to ask him about race" or any struggles he's had on his career as a black actor from shows (Game of Thrones, Doctor Who and Interview with the Vampire) with very racist fandoms plural in general
We can't be worried that apparently Jacob hasn't heard anything about his role on season 3, even though other people have?
We can't talk about how behind the cameras the show is still pretty white with its writers room, directors, hairstylists, makeup artists etc and sometimes they need suggestions and advice on things they're not very informed about, like when Bailey wanted to discuss old black hairstyles for Claudia (which she was fully supported on, which is great! but nobody else had that idea, it was Bailey that had to come up with it)
We can't talk about AMC's, Anne Rice's or the industry's racism, just be glad they did us a favor having people of color in the cast in the first place and be glad they're people who aren't dying in genocide or something... Being alive and working is too much of a privilege already!
So, WHAT can we talk about? Can we talk about ANYTHING AT ALL?
Please tell us what is allowed and what isn't so we learn how to proceed. And teach the ignorant and overdramatic fans, please!
