Neal Reinalda March 22 - April 5, 2014 Opening reception March 22, 7-10pm
sophiajacob is pleased to host an immersive installation by Neal Reinalda. Drawing comparisons between the anonymous desolate gallery and the empty expanse of a desert or beach, Neal's project seeks to further transform the room into an experiential space. The viewer encounters a solitary set with infinite potential for personal separation into the dramatic.
Neal Reinalda is an artist and musician based in Los Angeles, CA. He produces music under the moniker The People's Higher Order of Royal Kinship (PHORK). He was a co-founding member of artist collective Open Space in Baltimore, MD and is currently a co-director of the John and Marion Frye Collection in Los Angeles, CA.
Please join us for a reception on Saturday, March 22nd from 7-10pm.

paintings by liz December 7, 2013 - January 4, 2014 Opening reception December 7, 7-10pm sophiajacob is pleased to present paintings by Liz Durette. For this exhibition, Liz was asked to create a body of work that utilizes oil painting as a vessel for creative liberation. In preparation, the artist was relieved from many of the logistical constraints and determinations normally associated with realizing a solo exhibition. Within this framework, the artist has been guided by genuine curiosity and personal investigation. With a quick and forthright approach, Liz exploits a medium that is both conventional and boundless. Liz Durette lives in Baltimore, MD. A collection of her improvised musical recordings will be released on Ehse Records in 2014. Please be sure to join our neighbor, Devil, for their inaugural show with work by Marisa Takal, entitled Z-1.
