this is not a chara analysis, i just see the potential of their relationship getting toxic and exploited it lmfao, pls donāt kill me
ElizaĀ noticed the spark between her sister and her husband very early on, and she knew of her sisterās sacrifice from the beginning. this actually adds extra stress on eliza in her relationship w alexander. when their relationship doesnāt go well, she feels a bit guilty. in her mind, Angelica gave up her own happiness for Eliza, so every time when things donāt go well Eliza feels she screwed up.
She talks abt love the same way she talks abt the prospect of getting a pet. She likes the concept of one, enjoys seeing other people with one, would casually talk about getting one, but deep down, she knows it's too much trouble for maintenance.
so, i had a writing idea (among 1416872 other ideas i have never written) involving zombie apocalypse & vampires/werewolf, where the protagonists woke up on an island filled with junk & abandoned buildings, not having any idea of who they were. i put the rest of the plot line under cut coz itās a lil bit long and i dont wanna screw those of u on mobile.
They go to karaoke after breakups and have a super hype (& sometimes drunk) girls night out
For the first time it was Angelica who did this, but very quickly it has become a thing these girls do. They go sing regularly too - it's not just a breakup thing.
They go with their friends too, and always shook their new friends, bc none of them not look the type who'd be SO into rap and being so good at it

"Is Jefferson coming or not?" Alexander looked up from a spreadsheet printout, exhaustion evident in his eyes.
"Dunno yet." Angelica didn't tear her eyes away from her laptop screen. She also looked tired, her voice deeper and more sober than usual, hair tied into a bun.
"How would you not know? You're in charge of inviting him." Alexander felt his patience quietly yet unmistakebly slipping away from him. He didn't want to start an argument, especially not with Angelica, but it was 1:20 a.m. and they were still working in Alexander's hotel room. And they got up at 7 a.m. that morning ā no, yesterday morning, strictly speaking. Eliza had already fallen asleep at some point of the night, in full set of work clothes, on Alexander's bed.
"Yeah, but no, I really don't know. He's some kind ofā¦ you know," Angelica finally looked up, making some gestures with her hand, "big shot. Big shots are never sure of their schedules. I've already called and emailed his secretaries and deputy secretaries and deputy deputy secretaries. No definite answers yet."
"How can he not be? The fucking conference starts tomorrow morning! We've only got a bit over 24 hours left, and still no final list of attendees!"
"So what do you propose we do, Mr. Genius?"
"Message his secretaries. Call them. I dunno, anything!"
"At one bloody o'clock in the morning? That's so very considerate of you."
"It's not 1 a.m. in France. Plus, we are still working at this ungodly hour because of their boss. They'd better be working their asses off as well!"
"Alrighty then," Angelica dug in her inbox looking for one of Jefferson's secretaries' phone number and punching in the numbers one by one, squinting. "By the way, are we sure about the other guests? We still need to arrange airport and train station pick-ups and their meals."
"Ugh, it's D.C. Just let them take the metro."
"No, Alexander. The big shots are terribly allergic to public transportation. Do you wanna kill them? -Oh hi, it's Angelica Schuyler, I work on Washington's staff.ā The other side apparently picked up the phone right after Angelica's remark, so Alexander rolled his eyes at Angelica and mouthed "maybe I do."
"Yes, I call to ask if Mr.- Dr. Jefferson will be attending the conference tomorrowā¦ Oh, great, has your team booked a flight yet? Do you have an E.T.A.? OK. Do you know roughly whether he'll arrive in the morning or afternoon? ā¦Alright. I do need to hear back from you by this afternoon EST though, my colleagues and I need to arrange the pick-ups and dining. Ok. Thanks, bye. Talk to you soon."
Angelica hung up the phone and let out a big, long sigh.
"He is coming to the conference, but they haven't booked a flight yet."
"What the fuck are they waiting for, now that they know he's coming? Trying to figure out which airline has the best food? Seriously, we should just call a taxi or an uber to pick him up."
"Exactly my thoughts when I was on the phone, but no can do. He's snobbish and an Important Person and Washington wanted to make him feel the hospitality from this side of the pond. From him personally, at least. Took all the strength I had not to start yelling at the Esteemed Dr. Jefferson's Esteemed Secretary."
"Ah, the Big Shots and their Eccentricities. No wonder you sounded almost uncharacteristically polite on the phone," Alexander smirked. "A bit bland, though, without that scalding sarcasm."
"Wow, good to know that's how you think of me now, Mr. Hamilton, a bland woman. How can I ever do anything properly without your valuable insight?"
"You can't. That's what we men are for," Alexander laughed. "Giving unprompted opinions."
Angelica let out a short laugh and swatted his shoulder.
"Oh well, this is it. Let's call it a night." Angelica stood up and stretched. "I'll go wake up Eliza. Get some rest."
"You don't have to, you know. I don't mind her taking my bed."
"And give you the chance to be in that classic 'oooh, and there's only one bed!' dilemma, while I stay alone in a room with two perfectly fine beds? No thanks." Angelica raised her eyebrows. "She'll need to change out of her work clothes either way. These can't be comfortable to sleep in."
Angelica didn't wait for Alexander to respond and moved to the bedside, gently patting Eliza on the shoulder. "Hey sweetie, wake up. Let's go back to our room."
"Hmm... " Eliza rubbed her eyes sleepily, "When'd I fall asleep?"
"Some time around 11 p.m., I think." Angelica turned to Alexander. "Alright Alexander, we'll see you tomorrow at 7 a.m.?"
"Today, at 7 a.m., Angelica. Which is in a little more than five hours."
"Thanks for reminding me how miserable our lives are."
"Always my pleasure. Good night, Schuyler sisters."
"G'night, Alexander." Eliza was still half asleep, following her sister's footsteps out of the room like some kind of chick following the mother hen.

The day before Thanksgiving, Maria went about her morning feeling a bit unsettled.
She tried to stick to her simple routine, to keep herself from overthinking, taking a brief shower and then applying some makeup. New York was freezing already, but the water heater didn't work that well in her tiny apartment. Day by day, taking lukewarm showers had become more unbearable.
She stepped out of the shower and shuddered at the chilly air, as she paced in front of the mirror. There was little remaining of her lipstick. It was impossible to twist that short stub out of the plastic, so she had to scrape some off with her pinkie instead and smear the bright red on her lips. "Lady danger", the color was called. Hopefully that's how she'd be presented: someone more strong and fierce than she was. Someone who was the danger instead of being in one. A briefcase was sitting by her bedside, already packed for being away for three days.
She left her worn-down apartment at 7:45 am sharp, showered and dressed as nicely as she could manage, the small briefcase in hand. She walked through the narrow alleys, aptly circling around the trash cans and carton boxes that were in the way, Ā eventually reaching the main road.
Her ride came at 8 am, as promised. That red SUV caught her eyes from miles away. The bright color stood out, in this dusty neighborhood.
"Morning." The woman driving rolled down the window. She had a large pair of rose gold sunglasses on. It was the type that you could see your own reflections on the lenses, so it was hard for Maria to make out her expressions. Ā "Do you need help put your luggage in the trunk?"
"No, I got it. Thanks, Angelica." Maria opened the trunk (after two tries) and thrust her briefcase between two big suitcases, which she assumed were Angelica's, that took most of the space, and climbed into the shotgun.
"I got you coffee." Angelica pointed at the venti cup sitting in the drink holder before starting the car again. "Feel free to rest a bit; it's gonna be about three hours' drive. You don't need to start pretending until we get there."
"Thanks." Maria appreciatively took a sip; it was the same kind she ordered last week, when she and Angelica met for the first time at that cafe that was too nicely decorated that it almost intimated her.
She couldnāt imagine Angelica cared enough to take the effort to remember her order. Itās interesting, really, that she seemed like both someone who wouldnāt spare an extra thought to those outside of her trusted small circle of friends, and someone who were socially tactful enough that she appeared she did at the same time. But again, she didnāt really know Angelica. It was the second time they met face-to-face, after all.
Idea: a reincarnation au where the protagonists work at a governmental ministry whose purpose is to kill off the reincarnates of horrible ppl in history before they start becoming a problem

another one of my Schuyler Sisters m!au h/c, bc i love these girls & in general have a lot of h/cs abt them: theyāre adopted sisters, with Angelica & Peggy adopted in the States and Eliza from China.
Angelica & Peggy & the rest of Schuyler household learned a bit of Chinese for Eliza when she first arrived, as a sign of welcoming her to the family & that she wouldnāt forget her mother tongue entirely. Angelica & Peggy are way more fluent in it than their parents, and since they were kids and even into adulthood they share secrets & blatantly talk shit abt ppl in Chinese.Ā
(Angelica and Peggy are way more comfortable with listening & speaking than reading & writing. and now as adults, all three of them are more comfortable with English.)
They address their parents in Chinese, as āBa/Babaā and āMa/Mamaā.
When Alexander & Elizaās relationship turns to be serious, he was gifted an Introduction to Chinese textbook, among other things, as the sign of recognizing him as part of the family & of Elizaās life. He spoke it with terrible accent for a long time & got teased a lot, but everyone appreciates his effort. Eliza learned French for him too, with the help of Lafayette. she also struggled with it for a long time.
Eventually, Alexanderās Chinese got good enough that he could cuss at TJeff in Chinese for 30 min.
Angelica knows abt this bc TJeff once came to her after a cabinet meeting, pouting & complained abt the whole thing. She feigned sympathy but was dead laughing inside bc Peggy & herself were the ones that taught Alexander all the cuss words in Chinese (Eliza couldnāt bring herself to do it).
This is me keep going off of this post, coz from time to time u just think of new things to add. Jokes on me when i thought this was supposed to be an art blog LMFAO
Anyway - another thing Iām curious to see in AUs where Maria is friends with the Schuylers: the parallel of her fate and Alexanderās.
Iāve said in the old post that bc of the more or less similar upbringing, Alexander & Maria would probably share an understanding of the life at the bottom of the social ladder & a drive to make better lives for themselves.
However, pls remember that Alexanderās achievements cannot be easily replicated. It takes being an extremely hard working genius & being extremely lucky (*cough* yk, being a male & having other privileges like knowing the right ppl) to achieve what he did. If we follow the ascension of Alexander thru the first Act, itās basically an underdog story. Ppl love underdog stories. theyāre uplifting. They tell u āif you work hard enough you can do it too!! Your destiny is in your hands!ā Things went so smooth for Alexander during the first act that itās easy to forget how hard it actually is to make that kind of leap in social classes.
Concept: āI love my sister more than anything in this life, I will choose her happiness over mine every time,ā but as in a Time Travel! Angelica AU

Heres some long-ass personal interpretation based on the musical that nobody following this blog signed up for lol. Not gonna be touching on history coz iām no expert and thereāre ppl way more qualified for that. and itās good to keep things separated.
thereāre obviously many similarities between the two Aās. Both are witty, outspoken, center of attention, and a bit of a flirt. To me, the most interesting trait shared by both is their awareness: They know exactly where they stand socially, and subsequently, how to play by the rules to climb up. This clear awareness is where I got the idea for the staircase drawings.Ā āiām a girl in a world in which my only job is to marry rich/ my father has no sons so iām the one who has to social climb for oneā is a demonstration of Angelicaās awareness, just asĀ āAs a kid in the Caribbean I wished for a war/ I knew that I was poor/ I knew it was the only way to rise upā shows Alexanderās.
itās different for Eliza - i know as the show proceeds, she gradually becomes more ambitious and active, but in Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story, what she asks, instead of how to rise up, is:Ā āHave I done enough?ā this quiet insistence is why i always see her as someone who does things because she thinks itās a right thing to do, no matter whether that thing in question would benefit her personally or not. sure, she gives off ācinnamon rollā vibes, but girlās no less strong or badass than Alexander or Angelica.

You know one thing Iām curious to see in modern aus where Maria is friend with the Schuyler sisters? The difference in values and perceptions as a result of social status and upbringing
Iām not saying the Schuylers are sheltered rich kids - they probably know how ppl in the bottom live, but knowing is quite different from actually having lived in that life style.
But Maria knows. Maria knows how few her options are, how dire the resources she has in comparison to the Schuylers, and how hard ppl have to compete to seize them in order to make it a few steps higher in the social ladder. Sheās born and bred in that world; she uses all the skills she acquired from living in that world to leave it behind.
Alex knows too, but Alex probably doesnāt bring up his upbringing much, coz his goal, initially at least, is to blend into the world the Schuylers live in. I think altho heās proud of how much heās accomplished, heād also see that part of upbringing his weakness.
That leads to another point - Alex probably would not be as inclined to help ppl in the position he used to be in.Ā
Itās kinda like the boomers who think the āmillennialsā got it easy nowadays. Itās not right, but can u blame him? He made it this far and accomplished so much by himself. In his mind if one doesnāt work as hard as he did and go thru as many hardships as he did, they got it easy. If they didnāt make it to the top, they are weak.
