Some other skills I have developed since working at Model and Scenic now include application of vinyl, application of iron on edging and trimming as well as my new favourite- flame polishing.. this heats up the edges of cut acrylic to remove any trace of the blade, allowing it to look completely clear. #vinyl #irononedging #flamepolishing #finishingtouches #propmaker

Creating the plinth for this TV display unit for Pulse Fitness was so interesting as I was taught how to spray using cellulose paint for the first time.. a lot of work including priming and building up lots of layers of paint whilst sanding in between but really satisfying to see the final result. It removes the fury edge of the cut mdf to allow it to appear smooth and almost plastic looking. #PulseFitness #mdf #cellulose #spraying #painter

This was a model created by myself (excluding the acrylic framework) for company BASF. It was created using a mixture of crystals, air drying clay and plaster of Paris. I really enjoyed this as it was back to model making and focusing on the intricate details. #BASF #modelmaking #chemicalreactions #exhibiton #clay #plaster #crystals

I've been really bad at updating my social media this year but after working freelance since graduating and moving home, I've have been pleased to take on a more permanent position as a prop maker for exhibition company Model and Scenic Solutions.. I've been based there since January and I'm still really enjoying it.. Ive been welcomed into the company and am continuing to learn new skills, methods and techniques every day so I'm exited to see how it progresses! (at Model & Scenic Solutions)

This weeks challenge was to recreate a space inspired by the secret underground spaces used by the LGBT community in the 20s and 30s for the event "Queer and the State" by the National Archives, London. So pleased with the outcome designed, created and installed by myself and designer Dave Benson. Vicky and Rowena at the National Archives were lovely to work with and it was so satisfying to see how pleased they were with the final outcome.
