Watching Mad Men more than a decade after it debuted, and I’m realizing that I don’t have a lot of the same cultural touchstones as my fellow 80s kids because my own mother was perpetually stuck in her childhood in the early 60s. I see so many set pieces and props that look like my mother’s and her mother’s decorating.
