my favorite way to spend money, plus who can resist the amazing aretha franklin?
My perfect afternoon
There’s something about a day when you start a new notebook that feels so fresh and life-restoring. If you’ve been following me for a while then you know I’m almost exclusively a Moleskine user (soft cover, squared pages, that’s the one). However I recently visited one of my favourite stationers in London and this one caught my eye. I think what drew me to it was the tiny gilded maxim, barely noticeable in the corner: ‘what should have been, is’. Once I saw it was squared paper inside I had to have it. I can’t wait to find a use for this one!
you don’t have to be productive or busy all the time. just because you’re not studying, working on a new project or researching, doesn’t mean you aren’t spending your time well. striving to be busy all the time is not an intentional way of using your time - filling your head with more and more tasks and more and more guilt. try to focus on what really matters to you, and on how to create a positive, clear headspace for yourself. when are you at your happiest? how can you enjoy those moments more? when did you last slow down a little, look around, rest intentionally?

8 hours of studying, 2 coffees, 2 sandwiches and so much biochemistry & immunology later, i can at least safely say today was productive (and binge a new netflix show). still can’t get over how pretty this library is.

with the quarter ending and the holidays coming up, I haven’t had any time to post anything since I’ve gotten back home! here are a couple snippets from a cozy date I took myself on in the city. I had just turned in my very last final exam of the quarter and decided to treat myself xxxÂ
2019 was for cutting toxic connections, 2020 is for building healthy ones.
My main goal last year was to stop being around people and things that weren’t good for me. But in the process of cutting out the unhealthy pieces of my life, I inadvertently fell so deep into myself that I ended up cutting off almost everybody. my family and friends, my partner, and I was totally okay with it. About a week ago I realized that I am a completely different person, and I don’t think I like who i’ve become. So this year I’m making a conscious effort to find myself again and be that social, caring, and involved person I used to be. That’s my new years resolution.Â
I wanna find my real self in 2020. I will read everything, finally start writing Poetry and travel. I will be productive. I will put myself first, take care of my skin, put good food in my body, save money and stay away from negativity and drama, especially not start drama ( so important) I wanna bury my past negative self while still honouring her, I just hope I become who i truly am.
I’ve completely overhauled my method of setting goals, and this is how I’m going to keep track of them this year to set myself up for success! Hope this is helpful for all of you :) Happy goal setting!
