jaehwa is a royal- heās yeon sojuās second in command. itās been like that for years, but it wasnāt always that way.
when he was younger, about 18, jaehwa was kicked out of his house from a wealthy family in seoul. he had no fucking clue of where to go, so he just kind of...roamed for the longest time. he didnāt have any money on him at all, he had a phone but it didnāt have any service and honestly? he only had the clothes on his back.
so he...kinda turned to trying to rob people after a while. he made his way to the michigo resort town and...targeted the first person that looked rich that he saw, figuring they probably had enough money anyway.Ā
it didnāt go down well
the person obviously fought back but jaehwa was stronger- he didnāt really know his strength actually. they fought- and at the end, jaehwa pushed the guy so hard he hit the concrete with a deafening crack. he was dead.Ā
the owner of club aura probably hates him for that if he knows about it- the guy he killed was an escort for them.
at first, jaehwa felt terrible. he had money now but he never wanted to do something like this. he didnāt even want to hurt anyone at all. and now he had killed someone.Ā
thatās...kind of where he started picking fights then, but not to win them. he purposefully found people that looked like they could beat him up. he owed it to that guy, he thought, to feel the same pain that he went through.
you could say that he started to like pain after a while- his motivation kind of shifted from the guilt to the high that he got from it. the blood, the pain was just like a drug to him.Ā
however, at some point his fight or flight instinct kicks in- people who get into fights with him typically donāt make it out alive if he has the ability to kill them
thatās actually how he met yeon. a guy that looks like he could beat you up and eat you for breakfast? oh hell yeah, heās gonna try to pick a fight.
but yeon is...strong. he couldnāt beat him, and ended up getting stomped on. literally.
jaehwa got invited to join the royals because yeon saw something in him when he was literally under his boot.
now instead of fighting for himself, he fights for the gang. he has a purpose now- but he does purposefully let him get hurt. but he gets high off winning now too- because he has a sort of family that he can serve and protect. he takes the pain, loves it, and it makes him stronger.Ā
