As I'm writing the bloodymary fanfic I keep getting new ideas

Like what if grace comforted Simon and tried to cure his boils, just like how Belle from beauty and the beast tried to help the beast's wounds.

Simon would snap and try to be angry, only to see that grace is trying to help. Despite how much it hurts.

Not only that, but grace would wear a hazmat suit while helping simon, thinking that the alien radiation is contagious.

But it could also mean jak, AS THE BOMB.

JAK WANTED TO KILL PRAXIS LET ALONE FIGHT FOR HIM

But in the end, praxis got EXACTLY what he wanted. A dark eco warrior to kill the metal head leader.

Praxis was a calculated planner in that war and if I think too hard about it I go crazy.

Post prison Jak develops chronic pain. Because you cannot tell me that he didn't develop some nasty nerve damage from those experiments.

Bonus: he gets joint pain for days after a transformation.

When your in the prison

The vents on the floor have a green mist that looks like green eco...

BUT ITS NOT GREEN ECO

OR MAYBE IT IS

BECAUSE JAK CANT CHANNEL ECO ANYMORE, SO EVEN IF IT WAS IT WOULDN'T WORK.

sure you may say "what about the krimson guard crates? They probably have green eco"

YES THEY MIGHT BUT

There's a side quest where you collect green eco for the shadow near the palace. The mission is given by torn by one of the little announcer things. You run around and collect the little clusters of green eco, 60 of them, and in the first game if you collect 50 it matches one HP, whether you collect them with the jet board or a zoomer or by foot

THEY DONT HEAL YOU LIKE THEY DID IN THE FIRST GAME.

The same applies to another side quest near the entrance of the mountain temple, torn has you collect dark eco that leaked into the city. Same premise to collect the orbs.

BUT UNLIKE THE GREEN ECO MISSION

THE DARK ECO FILLS YOUR DARK ECO METER WHEN YOU COLLECT IT

Case in point, normal eco doesn't work for jak anymore without gadgets or alterations.

So I think you are very correct and I wanna talk about it.

We can safely say that Eco channeling is a rare ability, the only people we see channel are Jak and the Sage's (I have not played TLF I don't consider it canon)

So with this in mind, it makes perfect sense that the green Eco you get from med packs heals you... because they're intended to be used by non-channellers. I theorize that the Eco is 'activated' or refined so it can be absorbed and used by the body without the need of channelling.

Now let's look at Dark Eco for a moment, which is where we get fucky with science.

Unlike White Eco, we have no canon explanation for how you get Dark Eco, but I have ideas, not for today's rant.

When you see the colour black, you're technically seeing an absence of colour, because black absorbs all visible light wave le ngths.

What if, Dark Eco functions on the same principle. That it absorbs into it and consumes all other Eco -like a black hole almost.

What does this mean for Jak who is now full of Dark Eco? He can no longer channel coloured Eco, because it is absorbed into the Dark Eco.....

Or Dark Eco and Coloured Eco have the same magnetic charge, so Jak is now a dark Eco magnet that also repels other Ecos...

I did A LOT of research on eco a while back. And dark eco is in fact INVERTED COLORED ECO!

It's a mix of inverted red, yellow, and blue eco. BUT NOT GREEN ECO BECAUSE GREEN ECO HAS HEALING ELEMENTS AND DARK ECO is like the opposite.

but on a different post, I did another eco rambling about how all the 3 eco types fit into dark jak's abilities. It's kewl ehehehhehe

I've been trying to research and establish a canon for Eco for my fanfic, because shit needs to make sense and not break the world. I've been focusing mostly on Green Eco because it's about my OC who channels green Eco (it is the year 2025 and I unashamedly writing OC fanfiction. My depression is cured)

BUT holy shit yeah that makes a lot of sense ... because here's where shit gets weird!

Mix all Eco together? You get Light Eco

Mix red, yellow and blue (wHICH are also the primary colors) you get Dark Eco

BUT if you add Green Eco to Dark Eco you don't get light eco you get these fuckers

.....is ...do you think that the Baron/scientists knew that if you expose a creature to Dark Eco AND green Eco you get monster?

Is /that/ why there is green Eco vapour in the prison

I found the eco info through the jnd wiki and I tried to copy down the key details/functions for MY OWN jnd fanfic lol

I somewhat headcannon/ derive from the game for eco things, like, how the MASSIVE TORTURE DEVICE used on jak has so many components hooked up to it that LOOK like they use the 3 eco types! And the buttons at the sides are all colored blue yellow and red. Not green BECAUSE THEY CANT USE GREEN ECOOOOOO

It's so cool how many details are in a 20+ year old video game

Somehow the baron, or the barons scientists figured out how to invert the normal eco, then combine the inverted eco and made dark eco. I'm not sure what or how they invert normal eco to make it bad. But they did and that's how they manufactured dark eco.

Cus dark eco in nature in haven city, like dark eco pools, like in the strip mine, kill you instantly when jumping into them. But little dark eco clusters you collect from metal heads or KG crates full your dark eco meter.

It's so fascinating and not much is explained in game 😭

They're from the first game in the final battle, Gol throws green Eco into dark Eco and boom you get this ugly.

....and then you throw Eco crystals into the mix, because dark Eco ore and crystals are also "safe" to handle....

God's there is just so much lore and environmental world building that didn't get explored and I want to know everything*grabby hands*
