Jake hadn't intentionally forgotten that it was Christmas or nearly a week since it had passed, but he hadn't meant to remember that either. Holidays like this always made it harder for him to pretend that he hadn't a care in the world. He was categorically quiet and distant this time around, but he could hide that too. Maybe if he dusted off the presents he had bought and hid from Abby and Kristine he could coaxed them out of where ever it was they were holed up and he could go through the motions until he actually felt Christmas cheer.
