Thinking about these guys today. Might do another small run of something similar soon. Would anybody be interested in that?
Before the fur. For #ImaginaryMenagerie3 at @archenemyarts in April
Ready for fur. I'm both nervous and excited to start working on the fur on this guy. I've never worked with fur like this before so it will most definitely be a learning experience!
Look at this little foot.
Now onto the hands and feet.
Late night mold making.
Almost ready for detailing. Which I'm going to do even if it will all be covered by fur, because that's just how I do things. I like knowing its there.
A better look at the beginnings of this guy in progress for the Imaginary Menagerie at @archenemyarts in April
Sometimes you have to take a step back to look back at what you're working on and realize it looks like a bad cartoon (left) and be willing to destroy it to start over with something new (right). It's taken me a while to get comfortable with that fact, but it's worth it every time. Being precious with something you're working on is never going to push it to the places it needs to go.
I'm really happy with how these frames came out. The experiments making texture stamps from the pieces of bark were a total success and I'll definitely be playing around with it some more in the future.
Some of you have noticed already, but there are some eyes up in the shop as well. These are the last of this style of eyes, so if you've a wanted one, now's your last chance. There might be more eyes sometime in the future but not this style.
Here they are! Shop link is : shop.jakewaldron.com Have you ever been out in the woods and, even though you knew there was nothing else around, you could feel something else there? Something watching you? Or maybe just something that you couldn't see? That was these guys. They live in the trees. And when they hear you coming through their woods they stick their little heads out of the holes in the tree to see what's going on.
Almost done with these guys. Just a bit more to do. They'll be available tomorrow at noon EST. I'll update with a store link and info tomorrow.
That's a bit better. Threw this together tonight to help with my mess. It's not perfect (or pretty) but it'll work.
The chaos of creation. Or, maybe I just need more organization.
I splurged and bought myself this beautiful yarn. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with it so for now it's just going to hang there and inspire me until I think of something worthy of it. (It's hanging on one of @mattl21 awesome hand sculptures)
