“If you say so.” Daphne figured Jakob would know, since his family was so large. Once Celena was handed over to Jax, who really didn’t seem to mind taking her, she wrapped her arm around Jakob and followed his lead, still having no idea where they were going. “You know I would have been happy with dinner and having you all to myself in our room.”

“How do you know that’s not part of it?” Jakob chuckled, not giving her a definite answer. He wanted it to be a surprise, so he was trying his best to be conscious about what he did and didn’t tell her. Exiting the palace, he lead her down one of the back roads, as they wouldn’t be going into the village.

“I can’t believe it either,” Daphne sighed, actually hating that Celena was growing up so quickly. It was like yesterday that she’d been born, and now she was getting so big. “She’s happy, right? She seems happy.” That was all she had wanted for their daughter, though it was hard to gauge the emotions of a baby. When they reached Freddie’s door, she let Jakob knock, figuring it was best coming from him anyway- it had been his idea to ask Freddie to babysit anyway. Her brows raised and she smiled to herself when Jax answered- he always was so good with Celena, not that Freddie wasn’t. 

"She is a very happy baby, trust me. I’ve seen plenty,” Jakob chuckled. Being the oldest of his siblings and cousins came in handy at times. Celena had two parents who loved her unconditionally, and plenty of people who spoiled her on the side. Of course she would be happy. Jakob knocked on the door and explained the situation to Jax when he answered. He made sure to thank them for watching her last minute, and promised to give notice next time, before handing their daughter off. “Alright. Now... we have the rest of the night to ourselves,” Jakob smiled, wrapping his arm around Daphne as they headed to the main doors.

“I doubt your cousin finds your face as annoyingly adorable as I do. Probably just annoying,” Daphne teased, nudging his shoulder with hers. “Celena is going to be a handful when she’s older, look at that face,” she cooed, leaning down and kissing their daughter’s forehead as she slept. Nothing made her as soft as Celena; she simply accepted that now. “You and your surprised, Jakob Bjorgman. Alright, let’s go,” she smiled and kissed him again, her hand tugging lightly at his shirt before letting him go and scooping Celena up in her arms, keeping her asleep, somehow. 

“Mmm... you’re probably right about that,” Jakob laughed. He looked over at their daughter as Daphne mentioned her becoming a handful, sighing softly. “Well, if she’s anything like her mother I’m sure she won’t mind handling herself,” he chuckled. He kissed her back happily, not surprised when he felt her tug at his shirt. It resulted in a playful smirk on his part, shaking his head softly. If she wasn’t holding Celena he may have tried to return the gesture, but he didn’t want to wake their daughter. Wrapping his arm around her as they walked, he opened the door for them, leading her out first before following. “I can’t believe she’s going to be one soon...”

“Tell him what?” Daphne tilted her head to the side and smiled. She was hoping to become closer with Jakob’s family, so she was glad Alex was there. “Your wife,” she mused, still not used to the word. “Late for what? We don’t have a time that we need to leave unless you’ve already asked Freddie if he can watch Celena. And she’s sleeping.” She leaned into him, resting her forehead against his and relaxing. “So what is this plan of yours?”

Jakob smiled back at her, glad that she was playing along. He could tell that it amused her to repeat his words, which he found cute, actually. “No, I haven’t asked yet, but I know that he’ll say yes. He can’t say no to this face,” he joked, pointing to himself rather than Celena. “Or Celena’s, for that matter.” Laughing at his own commentary, Jakob shook his head. “Late for the things I have planned. We don’t have very specific time constraints, but I’d like as much time with you alone as I can get.” He smiled softly, nudging his nose against hers. “It’s a surprise, so I can’t tell you, but I think you’ll like it.”

“I guess he is sort of a loner,” Daphne shrugged her shoulders. Zaiden had a tough personality, much like herself. “Oh, that’s good. You seem really happy that he’s here,” she smiled, glad to see Jakob so light and carefree, especially with some of the drama lately. “Thanks. Hey, we’re never going to actually make it to Freddie’s if you keep doing that.” She sighed and brought her index finger to his chin, pulling him toward her and kissing him sweetly. 

“I am really happy. I missed him a lot. Don’t tell him I said that,” Jakob chuckled, half joking. He loved having Alek around, and now that he was at the palace Jakob was sure they’d get to spend more time together. “Doing what? I just enjoy kissing my wife,” the blond smiled. However, when she pulled him toward her with just a finger, he melted against her lips. “And that’s not going to make us late?” he rose a brow, placing his hands on her hips for a moment, stealing another quick kiss.

“Oh, alright. Zaiden…I haven’t heard from him lately. I’m actually concerned that he left the palace without telling me. Your brother is here? I had no idea. When did he get here?” Daphne started packing Celena’s things, looking over to make sure she was still napping. 

“I’m sure that isn’t true, isn’t he known for distancing himself quite a bit?” Jakob chuckled. “Yes, he is, but he only recently arrived from what I understand. I got to spend some time with him already, which I’m really grateful for.” He smiled, just thinking about his brother. “Here, let me help.” Assisting Daphne in packing Celena’s bag, he kissed his wife on the cheek, letting his lips linger on her skin a moment longer than normal.

“Yes. Well, I don’t think he is? Besides, I get the feeling he misses her. If he’s busy I could always ask Zaiden. Or... my brother. He’s here, now, Alek.”

Alek was glad that Jakob wasn’t actually going to back down from going out and having some fun. Part of him had worried that now that his older brother was married and had a baby he would be too serious. “I don’t think I’ve changed so much. Besides, I haven’t seen you in a long time, so I’m just…I’m happy to see you.” He gave him a reassuring smile, not wanting to get too sappy. He started to follow him out of the main doors, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Everyone’s doing good. I think they kind of miss having everyone around. But the ice business is doing great.”

Jakob chuckled, nodding his head. “Alright, alright. You might not have changed that much. Things have just changed for me so much lately that I guess I feel as though everyone else must be changing too.” He gave his brother a playful look. “You’re not going to start crying on me, Aleksander, are you?” he teased. Really Jakob thought it was kind of cute. He had missed his brother greatly, and though he had gotten to see both of his sisters here, and even Tyr, for a short while, he had missed Alek a lot. “That’s really great to hear. All of it. The palace is nice, but it doesn’t beat home.”

“Let’s get you out of the palace, huh?” Alek smiled, patting his brother on the back. “We should go to the bar in the village. It’ll be fun.” He actually wasn’t sure how much fun it would be, but he wanted to get Jakob out of the palace, and he hadn’t seen his brother in a long time. “Why wouldn’t I be up for it? We should do it. Besides, you suggested it so you shouldn’t back out now.”

“Alright, that sounds good to me.” Jakob couldn’t help but smile at the pat his brother gave him. “I don’t know, I feel like we haven’t gotten to spend time together in a while, I don’t know what you like anymore,” he laughed, shaking his head. “I’m not backing out, let’s go. Come on, it will be fun.” Jakob motioned for Alek to follow him to the main doors, figuring they didn’t need anything else. “How have our mother and father been doing?”

“Okay, that’s still family but it’s better.” He chuckled, smiling at his brother and his joke. “I’m not going anything now. Just talking to you.” He nodded. “Yeah I’ve gotten settled in. Anything you had in mind? You know this place way better than I do.” He hadn’t really gotten the chance to properly explore and look around yet.

“There’s a bar here, or I we could go down to the proper bar in the village, if you’d like. I could go for a drink.” Jakob hadn’t really told many people, though he had given up drinking for the most part whilst Daphne was pregnant, and ever since Celena was born, he didn’t really have much time for drinking unless it was with Daphne on the rare occasion they got a break. “Or we could find something else to do, if you’re not up for it.”

“That’s probably true. I mean, it also could have been the pregnancy hormones doing crazy things to her head.” He chuckled. “If the only people you’re hanging out with is your wife and daughter, then we really need to get you out. When was the last time you saw the sun?”

“All very possible options,” Jakob laughed with him. “I see Frederick, on the occasion. And Zaiden... Celena’s god father. Yeah... I do need to get out. What’s that again?” he laughed, shaking his head. “What are you doing now? Have you gotten settled in and everything? Let’s go do something exciting.”

“Maybe she thought all of you needed a bit of fun because things were so boring here. I don’t know. She thought I needed to get out and meet some people.”

“Well, I could use a bit of fun, I know that. I could probably meet some new people too. Maybe she convinced you to come so that I would have someone to hang out with other than my wife and daughter,” he chuckled.

“We need to discuss it, I don’t care where. Zaiden’s? No, I’m not alright. Thea said we need to leave, and she’s right.”

“That sounds safe. What happened? Did you get hurt? Did Celena get hurt? Where are we supposed to go? If we go back to Arendelle, Johanna could just follow us... Would we go back to Greece?”
