I wanted to share in this post the movie poster that I created for my short film FEAR.
This poster was on display at the Best of Art Essentials gallery show.
The poster shows the main protagonist in the face of his greatest fear, a dark mysterious tunnel.

This is a video that shows examples of the best shots in Cinema that have used depth of field which is a way of focusing the camera on the subject in the foreground and blurring the background. It is used in film to draw the audiences eyes to a subject that is significant in the film.

Why the latest film in the galaxy-spanning franchise has proved so unexpectedly polarizing.
A recent film that has received a lot of criticism among movie critics is Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017).
I personally believe the criticism is justified as when I watched this film I thought it did a poor job of doing the original trilogy justice for Star Wars.

I recently came across an interesting video that explains how cinematographers and how film directors create SHAPES inside the frame to add visual storytelling to their films. Check it out below.
This image is a still from my very own short film FEAR. I used natural light to create SHADOW on my characters face to show the element of fear.
I wanted to an example of how LIGHT is used in film to create emotion. The image is a still from Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. The use of the dark lighting shows conflict in our character Anakin Skywalker.
When I think of film as a visual medium, this iconic still from The Dark Knight (2008) comes to mind. It shows the sadness and defeat of our hero (Batman) as the flames in the background burn on. These flames symbolise the utter chaos that Batman must face later on in the film.
Film festivals have always been an interest of mine. Therefore this year I have decided to attend the Dallas Video and Doco fest on October 10th. It will serve as an excellent inspiration for upcoming film projects.

This is a still shot from the short film I made over the summer 'FEAR.' It tells the tale of a man's journey with Fear. The biggest of his fears being his fear of a dark mysterious tunnel that has haunted him since his childhood.
The size of the tunnel (as shown in the shot) in proportion to the main character standing at the front of it, shows the grandeur if his own fear and how big the the task is to overcome it.
