IIM Ahmedabad MBA-PGP Placements 2025: Strong Salaries & Recruiter Confidence
Rising Salaries & Growing Demand
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has released its audited placement report for the MBA-PGP Class of 2025, reaffirming the institute’s status as a premier destination for future business leaders.
Mean Salary: ₹35.5 LPA
Median Salary: ₹34.59 LPA
Both figures show an increase from the previous year, highlighting the continued confidence of top recruiters in IIMA graduates.
Student-Centric Placement Process
IIMA’s placement system is designed around the students’ aspirations, not just the numbers. Graduates have the flexibility to hold or reject offers and continue exploring opportunities with other companies. This ensures each student finds the best possible match for their career goals.
Top Recruiters & Opportunities
In 2025, 178 firms participated, offering 261 roles across sectors. Leading recruiters included:
Boston Consulting Group (BCG)
McKinsey & Company
Bain & Co
Accenture Strategy
American Express
These companies made the highest number of offers, reflecting their strong faith in the institute’s talent pool.
Maximum Earning Potential (MEP) vs CTC
Unlike many business schools that report Cost to Company (CTC), IIMA reports Maximum Earning Potential (MEP).
MEP = Actual first-year cash compensation
Unlike CTC, MEP excludes non-cash components like insurance premiums, gratuity, or notional bonuses
This approach provides a student-centric view of real earning potential, rather than inflated or misleading numbers.
Commitment to Transparency & Trust
IIMA was the first Indian management institute to adopt audited placement reporting through the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS) in 2011. This practice continues today, ensuring trust and transparency for both students and recruiters.
Atharva Kapadnis, Recruitment Secretary of MBA-PGP 2025, said: "The success of the placement process is a direct result of our dedication to achieving the perfect student-recruiter fit, crucial in today’s dynamic job market."
Professor Viswanath Pingali, Chairperson of Placement, added that audited, transparent data is key to maintaining confidence and aligning students with the right opportunities.
The Takeaway
The 2025 placements report highlights not just high salaries, but also IIMA’s focus on student choice, recruiter alignment, and transparency. For graduates, it’s not just about landing a job—it’s about finding the right opportunity to build a successful, fulfilling career.
