âIâm the one who calls out. Iâm the one who corrects. Iâm the one who rephrases. Iâve had plenty of people be like: you canât tell me what to say. But if youâre allowed to say whatever you want, Iâm allowed to react however I want. Right? Maybe my reaction is an attempt to correct you, but youâre allowed to take it or let it go. Maybe what you said seems trivial to you. But the little things are easier to fix. And they help build a foundation. So the bigger things are easier to address. And also: do the big things even matter if you donât care about the small things? Obviously I canât fight everything. You do have to pick your fights. And aggression never works. Because you want to win the war, and not just the battle. But one thing Iâll never let slide is pronouns. If someone is purposely using incorrect pronouns, thatâs getting corrected, on the spot. Itâs baseline respect. Itâs like using a mean nickname or something. Itâs just not nice, you know? I know you want to use whatever language you want, but maybe itâs not about you. Maybe Iâm not trying to take away your freedom. Maybe Iâm not trying to make you feel like a bad person. Maybe itâs more about: letâs not hurt the person itâs affecting, you know? I was very, very close to someone who had just started transitioning. And he did everything he could to pass as a man, because he is a man. But he still had some female features. And I was with him when someone misgendered him. I could tell that he was upset, so I followed him to his room. And I watched him just fall apart because of the dysphoria it caused. Itâs likeâ you could have literally taken two seconds to choose the respectful word. But you didnât. And look at the harm you just caused.â

âSince I was in elementary school, every weekend I would hold my momâs hand and go to the movie theater. After the movie, she would always buy me pork cutlet. I thought every family spends their weekends like that. Some time passed and when I was in high school, I accidentally heard my mom and dad fighting. It turned out my dad hadnât had a job for a while. I was so surprised that I burst in and asked âDad has lost his job before?â My mom also barely had an income, so if my dad hadnât been working, it must have been really hard for her to take me to the movie theater every weekend. If I think about it, my mom always used to say she didnât like the 3,900 won pork cutlet, and never ate it. Sheâd say that, but then get home and mix rice with kimchi water and eat that. I asked my mom why sheâd go that far to watch movies with me. My mom answered that arts and cultural activities enrich our lives. She meant that as in, ways of life are represented in the arts, so no matter how hard your situation is, you canât starve yourself of arts and culture. She said she did that, too. Her family struggled so much financially that she had to work at a factory since she was twenty, but she collected short stories, and even if she only made a little bit of money, she would go to watch movies. And now she has become a published author of childrenâs literature.â âDo you also dream of a life like your motherâs?â âThatâs a bit difficult. My fatherâs personality is honestly completely different from my motherâs. I wonder whatâs right. When I see the challenges my parents had to go through without money, I sympathize with my dadâs thinking. He tells me I have to take the level 7 police test no matter what. Because he says that power is the most importantâĶâÂ

How have smartphones impacted our lives
The impact of cell phones and smartphones on our lives is substantial. In a relatively short amount of time, they went from being peripheral in our lives to playing a major role in the things we do each and every day.
Previously, there was only the option of signing up with one of the major carriers out there. That meant taking on a huge bill because they were simply the only games in town. It was a major frustrating aspect of having a cell phone for the longest time.
Thanks to providers like Mint Mobile, it has never been more affordable to have a smartphone. Heck, you can even use a Mint Mobile coupon to get a discount on a phone, making the process that much more affordable. And since the Mint Mobile Network relies on the T-Mobile network, you never have to question the quality of service that you are getting.
More importantly, it has changed the way that we entertain ourselves.
Entertainment Aspects
Perhaps the largest advancement in smartphones is their ability to provide a plethora of entertainment options in one small, neat package. People never have to be bored for even a second thanks to the many options that are waiting to be used on their smartphone.
Think about cell phones of old. They could call out, receive calls, and store contacts. Eventually, the fancier ones had texting capabilities and cheap 2D games. Fast forward to today and you can do almost anything on your smartphone.
Streaming has become a major thing in recent years and smartphones are right there along for the ride. Users can stream live video content from their smartphones in an instant. That means never having to miss a sporting event or being able to watch your favorite show on a long commute.
Changing Games
Most of all, it has created a massive industry through mobile gaming. Content creators out there develop these games and publish them to the Apple Store, Google marketplace, or both in order to capitalize on the monetary potential there.
And there is a huge amount of monetary potential to be had. With games out there for anyone and everyone, developers can create the ideal game for their target audience and then offer upgrades or subscription packages, developing income from those mobile games.
It has even had an impact on console gaming. There are many different console games that have been converted into more compact mobile games, allowing gamers to experience the same great games they love on their consoles, only on a much smaller platform.
âIâm trying to start a company while raising a four year old child. Â But my business partner is a mother too, so weâre very supportive of each other. Itâs a nice departure from the corporate world, where I think a lot of new mothers are made to feel like theyâre laying their foot off the gas. Â A lot of it is nonverbal: having work taken away, or not being included on important projects. Â But I also remember being told that I âwasnât being presentâ at work. Â And that âmy husband needed to step up.â Â My behavior did change when my child was born. Â But for the better. Â I became more efficient. Â For the first time I was able to set limits, and have people recognize them. Â My limits never seemed valid before. Â Exhaustion wasnât valid. Â Mental health wasnât valid. But having a child gave me a firm reason to say âno.â Â Itâs not ânoâ to working harder. Â Itâs ânoâ to excess. Â To not redoing something twenty times when you have it on the first try. Â Or creating thirty proposals because the boss would love to see âjust one more,â âjust one more.â Â Itâs excess. Â And itâs almost as bad as doing nothing. Â Because what is good gets lost in the excess. Â I donât have time for it anymore. Â I have to recognize whatâs most important. Â I donât have time for endless debate. Â I have to go straight to the source of the problem, or my kid is going to pee her pants.â
Once upon a time in Hollywood, four little women, two popes, and one Irishman walked into a barâĶ
This Sunday, the best of the film industry will gather to honor, wellâĶthe best of the film industry in a little known event called The Academy Awards. For the 92nd year in a row, the recipients of the tiny golden man mysteriously named Oscar are chosen by people who are not you. 92 years and not once have they asked your opinion. Outrageous.
Thatâs why we like to take this time of year to show off what the Oscars would look like if you had a vote.Â
The @fandomâ team analyzed a full year of celebrity-driven data, starting from January 20, 2019. Every tagged original post, reblog, search, and liked post related to the nominees were counted, weighted appropriately, and is wrapped up neatly for your leisurely (or frantic) perusal below.
Letâs get on with the cold, hard data
We look at engagement data holistically, not tied to any one property. Though Scarlett Johansson dominated the conversation overall, itâs not just because of her roles in this yearâs Marriage Story or JoJo Rabbit. Itâs also because sheâs Black Widow, which doesnât even come out for another three months. In case you didnât know, you folks really do love Marvel that much. Though she received 69.02% of the engagements in the leading actress category and 55.92% in the supporting actress category, a quick look at her tag shows you have a lot to say and GIF about all these films. Itâs worth noting Adam Driver also had a big year outside of Marriage Story, too. Wow, data!Â
Hereâs how everything else broke down:
