Nikon D810 vs Canon 5D Mark III - A Timelapse Test from Andrew Walker on Vimeo.
This is a test to compare the quality of timelapse created with a Nikon D810 and a Canon 5D Mark 3. The method of capture was RAW sequences to preserve the highest possible quality for both cameras. The noise in the shadows of the 2 cameras when pushed up look totally different. Of course the problem with showing this on the web is that a lot of noise is hidden by web compression. This file is downloadable if you want to check out a slightly better version. This isn't a lens test its a signal to noise test between the 2 cameras.
To find out more about this test go to the blog post about it. 599productions.blogspot.com/2015/02/nikon-d810-vs-canon-5d-mark-3.html

THE LOWEST PLACE ON EARTH from Rea on Vimeo.
THE LOWEST PLACE ON EARTH - The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth in any land mass (417 meters below sea level, to be exact). The quantity of water that evaporates from it is greater than that which flows into it, such that this body of water has the highest concentration of salt in the world. It is called the Dead Sea because its salinity prevents the existence of any life forms in the lake.

Kinetics : HD Typography motion graphics from Nicholas Schrunk on Vimeo.
nickschrunk.com
"Kinetics" was an exploration into human movement and relating it to illustrative typographical elements. To achieve the footage to show human motion at the level needed we shot with a scientific high-speed camera at 500 frames per second in HD on a green screen for the performance. The subject of break-dancing was used because of its raw beauty of illustrating human motion. Typography is used as an illustrative element in this piece supporting the kinetics of the motion. The typeface Didot was chosen because it combined a modern feel with classic serifs.

Good Books "Metamorphosis" from Antfood on Vimeo.
We dug through the darkest recesses of our minds and studio to create original music and sound design for this Buck masterpiece. Working with squirming, analog-tape leeches, moaning coeds, screaming guitar goats, and brain-exploding psychedelia, we were certainly in our element. Plus, it's always fun to rock out and get a little weird for a good cause!
Good Books, an online bookseller, passes all of its profits through to Oxfam. Our hats go off to Buck and String Theory.
Enjoy the trip!

This November, FACT is pleased to present the UK premiere of Type Motion, an exhibition featuring over 200 outstanding examples of text and typography being used alongside the moving image. The exhibition celebrates the creative possibilities of opening up uses of text far beyond print, and seeks to showcase not only the importance of writing, but how bringing it to life with movement is an artform in itself.
