The only thing I really worried about was making sure I got good grades in English otherwise my mother would have killed me.” He chuckled quietly, the memory of his mother making him smile. At her next comment a challenging grin appeared on his lips as he nodded softly. “You’re on.”

He exhaled softly, turning on his feet and quickly approaching the two. “Woah, easy there buddy.” James started, noticing he broke a glass with his hand. He looked at the other, “I suggest you leave now before he does that to your face.” He told them carefully, gesturing towards the glass. When they left, he made eye-contact with his friend again. “What’s your problem?”

“I can’t be positive around ya’. Two Pollyannas in the town full of infected would be intolerable. We have to balance each other out.” She chuckled softly. “How can a snowman be scary if it has a white marshmallow-like body?”

“Intolerable? I wouldn’t say that. Come on, cheer up a lil.” He spoke, a soft chortle escaping his full-lips. “It’ll be white, yes. But we can use some small twigs to make his eyebrows and use pebbles to create his lips and just make him look really evil.”

“Yeah human interactions bug me too.”She laughed as she didn’t get along with too many people. “Besides I feel like shit.”She said coughing quietly, “It’s from being cooped up in this damn hospital.”She sighed.

“Define what you mean by ‘I feel like shit’. Are you just tired, or do you actually feel ill?” He asked, not helping but to feel a little concerned although he tried to play it off cool as if he didn’t care.

“I spent half of my childhood at hospital; the other half was at home, so I didn’t have time for buildin’ snowmen. – And it is pointless. The happy snow guy will melt away in a few days.” Lindsey said and kept her eyes on James. She lightly smiled, started to do what he told her to. “Or an infected rip his head off. Either way, our happy snow guy will be dead.”

“Well, you like to thing negatively don’t you? The snowman was never alive in the first place. Come on, we have time now. Let’s quickly make a snowman.” James suggested again with a grin. “A scary-snowman to frighten away the Crooks.”

“I can’t really let myself have much fun with a possibility of a crook running at me from around the corner. I say we leave the snowman and fun winter games for when it’s safe. This won’t be our last winter.”she assured him, starting to walk down the path. “And unlike you I can’t outrun them, so.”

James sighed softly, before his lips tugged up into a small smile and he nodded his head slightly. “Fine.” James agreed, following suit. He let out a chuckle. “I don’t know, Mila. You have some pretty strong thighs. I bet you can even out run me.”

She got comfortable, shifting her legs slightly in his lap before resting her head back on the pillow once more. Katherine couldn’t help but snort a quiet laugh as James asked if she would lead. “I’d make a terrible leader, we’d al be dead in days.”

“Maybe not.” James retorted, “I think you’ll be a fair leader. But then again, you’d have to deal with everyone’s and hate when they start to question your leadership. And I don’t know about you, but human interaction bugs me.”

Katherine was laying down on the waiting room couch as she began to speak finally, “You know this is total bullshit–everyone is running around here barking orders and no one knows who the hell to listen to.”She said with a slight eye roll, “One person says this–another says that–I say we buck up and choose a leader.”

“No way, Pollyanna.” Lindsey rolled her eyes but the grin on her face gave away her amusement. “Ya’ might like the snow, but I’m still indifferent to it. But the view is nice though. When it snows, I mean. – And I’ve never built a snowman before.” She pointed out, tried to keep her grin from growing wider.

“What?” James asked in disbelief, meeting her stare. “You’ve never built a snowman before? Like, never? We gotta change that, Linds. Come on. Help me make the base.” James said, making a small snow ball and rolling it in the snow.
