Cora was being stupid. The thought crawled inside her thoughts with her motherās voice. Why was she inside her brain in the first place? She was freezing cold, a feeling she hadnāt felt for so long. She usually loved going outside during the winter only wearing the minimum amount of clothing so as to not get sick, but with the blizzard roaring outside and with her irritation at herself, she couldnāt help but tremble. Her mother was going to kill her. When Cora decided to sneak out and follow the mysterious James, she didnāt think this would be the outcome.Ā āMy mother probably went to my room to check up on me when the blizzard started, and now she must be hell on earth after seeing I wasnāt there.ā She wasnāt too happy about sharing what kept eating her up, but with James there, she just felt the urge to open up. Something she wasnāt used to doing. She leaned forward as he took her hands, gazing at his mouth as his calming voice swept over her thoughts.Ā āI should build the fire.ā She spoke softly, lowering her head as she looked down at her feet, she felt guilty enough already.Ā āI donāt want you freezing to death.ā
James had never had someone who cared about him enough to relate. Of course he wasnāt about to bring down the mood by saying anything about that though. His blue eyes swept over her while a tinge of curiosity shined in them.Ā She turly was beautiful, not that he didnāt think so before but being in such close proximity seemed to only confirm that. He grinned before shaking his head in response.Ā ā Donāt worry, Iāve got it.Ā ā he promised her. After tossing a couple logs in the fire place and getting the fire going he settled back into his spot beside her.Ā ā Any suggestions on how we could pass the time?Ā ā he questioned while leaning back on the coach that he had been resting on.Ā
