James had never had someone who cared about him enough to relate. Of course he wasn’t about to bring down the mood by saying anything about that though. His blue eyes swept over her while a tinge of curiosity shined in them. She turly was beautiful, not that he didn’t think so before but being in such close proximity seemed to only confirm that. He grinned before shaking his head in response. “ Don’t worry, I’ve got it. “ he promised her. After tossing a couple logs in the fire place and getting the fire going he settled back into his spot beside her. “ Any suggestions on how we could pass the time? “ he questioned while leaning back on the coach that he had been resting on.
Whenever Cora snuck out, she always made sure her mother wouldn’t find out. It had reached a point in which she was now a professional. However, it wasn’t like her mother let Cora have her free time, she was always hovering around near, tracking her phone (though Cora figured that out much younger) and putting her to sleep. She was a woman now, but she was never going to get away from the tight grasp of her mother. Cora watched James let go of her and build a fire, while normally she would have protested about her ability to build fires, she decided to hold herself as she basked in the view of his behind. It was far better than lugging logs. He was the most interesting person in this town, everyone was so average, or too flamboyant. He was someone she couldn’t quickly label, and it was eating her up. The young woman sucked her lower lip, her tongue aching to ask a million questions. “How about you tell me about yourself? More specifically why on Earth did you end up here out of all places?”
