Big Love ft. Mel Jade - Jump (Music Video)
Three weeks ago i was contacted by my favourite Melbourne director Mr. Dan Brophy. Dan explained to me that he was shooting a music video in a week's time and asked if i was interested in getting involved. Having worked for Dan in the past, it was a no brainer and i jumped at the opportunity, he told me that i would receive all the details throughout the week.
The night before the shoot i still hadn't received any information regarding the scheduling except that it was being shot in a warehouse around Prahran. Fortunately, later that night Dan gave me a call and delivered me a location and a time. Once arriving there the following day i'd learnt that in the space of a week Dan had found and secured a warehouse for the day, hired a camera crew, organised a makeup artist, taken care of costumes/wardrobe and put together a cast of 10-13 young people who would bring his concept to life. Usually this process would take a lot longer and it really goes to show that Dan can make something special out of nothing.
Big Love is DJ/Producer Anthony James. Traditionally putting out vocal house type stuff, "Jump" to me has a more minimal/dubstep feel. Combined with the vocals of singer Melanie Jade, it's instantly likeable. Unfortunately the song hasn't been released yet so i can't post it.
There were a lot of familiar faces popping in throughout the day and all in all it was a successful shoot as we managed to finish on time! Working for Dan is great, he's a visionary and i can really learn a lot from the way he speaks to his talent, explains his ideas and makes them feel comfortable. He really knows how to get the best out of everyone!
I'll post the video once it's up online.

The Getaway Plan - Move Along (Finished Clip)
This is the finished product by Gemma Lee of Blackberry Films for the Getaway Plan's new single "Move Along" I think Gemma did an absolutely stunning job. It's great to see what the final cut looks like after you've worked on set and examined how everything was put together.
Mildlife "Arriving Soon" single launch.
This Saturday night (3 march) from 8.30pm, Mildlife will be launching their new single "Arriving Soon" at the Grace Darling Hotel in Melboure. I've known these boys for quite some time now and you'll be doing yourself a favor by coming down and checking them out. The supports aren't too shabby either with Circular Keys and Baba-X, it's 10 bucks on the door.

The Getaway Plan - Move Along (Music Video)
Last Thursday i was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to work along side Gemma Lee and Charlie Clausen of Blackberry Films on the video for the Getaway Plan's new single "Move Alone". This was the first time i'd worked with these guys and they certainly did not disappoint, while it was a long day they never once failed to keep the spirits of the crew high whilst making the day run as smooth, entertaining and productive as possible.
Jody Muston, who worked on Wolf Creek and has shot videos for bands like Little Red and Gypsy and the Cat, was the DOP and it was great to get up close and see how a true professional works. After observing the monitor feed for the entirety of the day, i was amazed at how good the footage looked especially as the crew was using natural light for the majority of the shoot.
While i was only the production assistant on this team, from a learning experience i couldn't have asked for more. Working with such creative and enthusiastic people only inspires me to work hard and pursue my own goals of working my way up in the Film Industry.
I'll be sure to post the video once it's up online.
