Benefits of Adding Milk in Your Beauty Routine
The benefits of drinking a glass of warm, organic, raw farm-fresh animal's milk are many indeed. There is no other food on the planet that comes anywhere near the power to nourish and support our bodies like whole animal's milk can do. For example, fresh cow's (or goat, or buffalo) (unprocessed) milk is closest to breast milk than any other substance and should be considered a complete food.
The benefits of milk, especially when consumed warm and fresh from the animal, are many: it strengthens the bones, makes healthy skin, helps with weight loss, protects against infectious diseases, lowers blood pressure, improves metabolism, stimulates proper digestion, corrects acidity problems in the stomach lining. But one of its most potent qualities comes with aging. Did you know that milk may help fight wrinkles? A head-to-head comparison of milk vs. anti-wrinkle creams showed that milk outperformed these expensive wrinkle treatments hands down! How so? Dr. Chris Meletis explains: "...the skin's support structure declines as we age, milk provides the 'building blocks to rebuild it. The proteins, milk fat globule membrane, vitamins A, B6, B12 and E, butyric acid are all important for healthy skin... milk restores these substances lost in aging skin."
Milk Benefits For Skin: There are several milk benefits for skin, but before discussing them, let's talk about milk itself. Why milk? And why raw milk? Because milk is closer to mother nature than any synthetic or laboratory-derived substance can ever hope to be! To understand this truth, you only need to take a look at the milk composition. It is made of cholesterol (which cannot pass through cell walls), lactoferrin (an extremely potent antibiotic), IgG antibodies (to boost immunity), milk fat globule membrane (which protects milk from bacteria while passing through the digestive tract), lactoglobulin (which helps with nutrient assimilation in the intestine)... milk is alive! And milk drinkers have healthier, more beautiful skin because milk contains these substances.
Fights Wrinkles
Milk can do magic to your skin; milk contains lactic acid, reducing wrinkles and giving you smooth and glowing skin. As milk is rich in Vitamin B12, it helps fight against free radicals that damage the skin cells.
Lactic acid heals the damaged tissues, reduces inflammation, and makes your skin firm; milk also prevents the darkening of under-eye circles due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Milk is rich in antioxidants, so it helps repair the skin cells by fighting against free radicals, thus aids you in getting rid of scars.
If milk or yogurt surrounds your face for a few minutes before taking a shower, you will get soft, bright, and whiter skin and remove acne scars. Improves elasticity of the skin because milk has a milk protein called casein which acts as a moisturizer and reduces wrinkles.
Exfoliator
There are so many things milk can do to improve the appearance of your skin. Milk is a well-known exfoliator and makes your skin smoother and softer. It also works great for removing acne from your face. You can make different facial masks that will work wonders on oily, dry, or combination skin types with milk. Many recipes use milk as an ingredient to prepare these masks that will help fight fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and dark patches from the delicate eye areas around eyes and lips area around lips area.
Sun Burn and Milk
Apply milk directly onto the burnt area several times throughout the day; after each application, allow your skin to dry completely before reapplying again (so remember not to reapply until all of the liquid has evaporated). You don't have to wait for an extreme sunburn to happen before you do this. It is an excellent daily treatment for people who have been exposed to too much UV rays during summertime.
Moisturises Your Skin
Milk moisturizes the skin. It is highly effective in winters when it makes the skin look soft and supple. Regular use gives a healthy glow to your face. Milk is used to prepare various face packs, renowned for their excellent effects on the skin. Add milk to your daily beauty regimen and see how it improves your complexion.
1) Apply a generous amount of fresh milk on your face and neck before going to bed at night.
2) Leave it on for an hour or two before rinsing off with cool water.
3) If you have oily skin, add a few drops of lemon juice or rosewater into a half cup of milk and apply this pack to your face.
Milk Supply Chain
As you have read above, the importance of milk, but do you know how milk is delivered to your doorstep from the dairy farm?
The milk supply chain is the physical, mechanical, and human activities required to convert cow's raw milk into consumer-ready dairy products.
Most consumers are unaware of how much work goes into creating a simple glass of milk or package of cheese.
The milk supply chain starts with the dairy cows, then moves to process facilities, and finally to store shelves and then to your home.
Cows supply the raw materials for milk supply. Farmers provide the main supply by collecting millions of gallons of milk each day from cows on their farms. When farmers supply large quantities of milk to nearby plants, they help ensure fresh local supply year-round. This leads to the typically fresher product arriving at store shelves faster after production than delivered directly from multiple farms across a region or country.

Automation in Dairy Industry & Role of Dairy Supply Chain Services

Automation in Dairy Industry & Role of Dairy Supply Chain Services
Automation in Dairy Industry
Many dairy farmers, processors, and distributors employ technology to automate tasks previously done manually. Automation not only streamlines the work, but it often allows farmers to produce more and better products and continually monitor their herds’ health. It also helps those products move from farms to consumers’ tables more quickly and with greater visibility.
Dairy Farming
Dairy farming has a significant environmental impact on land, water usage, greenhouse gas emissions, other natural resources, and human health risks due to using antibiotics in cows for production purposes.
Cattle could be kept in a barn or free-stall housing instead of tied outside 24/7 year-round except during bad weather. In all dairies today, calves are separated from their mothers within a day to two weeks after birth, depending on the size and type of dairy, and fed formula rather than milk. Dairy cows typically die before 15 because of production-related health problems such as mastitis or lameness.
Cattles
The breeds that yield lots of milk are also more likely to produce twins; those calves may be raised for beef or veal. The cattle must give birth to lactate (make milk), but having a single calf every year is insufficient. Today, most dairy herds consist of more than one breed, e.g., Holsteins and Jerseys, Guernseys and Ayrshires, Brown Swiss and Milking Shorthorns. Despite artificially inseminating cows, dairy cows are still likely to have calves only once every one or two years.
Dairy farms can be small operations with just a few milking cows requiring the farmer’s daily labour, or extensive factory-like operations with 1000+ cows being milked three times a day by hired labour and producing hundreds of thousands of litres per year. Dairy farms generally sell their male calves for veal meat production, while others may keep the heifers (female) for replacements when needed. A farm that holds its replacement heifers is known as a cow-calf operation. Dairy farms that produce more milk than they need may choose to sell part or all of their production to receive some income rather than having it go to waste. Dairy farmers receive payment based on the quality and quantity of milk produced by their herd. The cows are milked twice a day, but during peak production months, the farmer may spend additional time milking them three times a day or more to help them produce even more milk.
Size of the Dairy Farming Industry
Dairy farming has become an increasingly large industry over the last century. As the demand for dairy products grows worldwide, so does the number of dairy farms in operation around the world. Dairy processing is often carried out on much larger scales than dairy farming. Dairy factories were initially established to recover cream from whole milk; recovery of skimmed milk was an afterthought and became feasible only when technological developments allowed it. Separated cream was (and is) a significant product in milk processing, as it is used to produce butter, cream and many soft-drink flavours. The skim milk was generally dried to form a powder, which can be sold as a health food for children or as an ingredient in the manufacture of animal feeds. The dairy industry has been subject to severe fluctuations in pricing together with changing public opinion, restrictive marketing practices from retailers and pressure from other countries that have enabled them to sell directly into your country. Dairy farmers have been rapidly disappearing over the past decades, and the number of cows has dropped by 40% since 1990 alone. Dairy farms are shifting towards more giant factories called Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs), where animals are inside most or all of their lives. Dairy products are made with milk from cows raised in Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs). An example is the concentrated milk operation of Chino Dairy, which was fined $100,000 for animal cruelty violations.
International Market
Dairy farmers will tell you that producing the highest quality possible under humane conditions is how they can compete successfully on an international market. Many dairy farmers complain about their treatment by the corporations who buy their milk and pay them price per litre instead of price per tonne of feed consumed. Dairy farmers also struggle to get access to veterinary drugs explicitly developed for animals under natural conditions. Most intensive dairy farming would be impossible without these drugs, yet drug companies charge very high prices, often prohibiting their use across borders. Dairy farmers are also having difficulties continuing their business with the high costs of inputs, which they cannot pass on to consumers anymore due to the increased competition in the market.
Dairy Supply Chain
Have you ever wondered how milk gets from the cow to your home? Dairy products make up a significant part of many diets around the world. Dairy farms are responsible for milk production, processing it into different dairy products such as cheese or yogurt, and distributing those products to grocery stores and restaurants where consumers can purchase them. Dairy farms significantly impact the world economy, providing jobs and revenue for farmers and other business people.

Why Dairy Fat is Important for Health and what is Dairy Product Supply Chain?
https://jamespaulblog.blogspot.com/2021/09/why-dairy-fat-is-important-for-health.html
Why Dairy Fat is Important for Health and What is Dairy Product Supply Chain?
According to new research from the University of Eastern Finland, people with higher dairy fat consumption have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease than those with low intakes. In addition, dairy fat was found to reduce liver fat stores in men consuming a high-fat dairy diet.
The findings were published in the Journal of Internal Medicine in March 2018.
In this study, 61 men aged 30-54 years consumed three different dairy diets for four weeks each: one high in dairy fat (HF), another high in combined dairy and plant fats (HF+P), and a third mainly consisting of plant fats (LF). There were 16 participants at each stage. The sizes of total fat depots and liver steatosis were assessed using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
The dairy fat-based diet resulted in a lower liver fat content and smaller total fat depots than those with combined dairy and plant fats or mainly plant fats. A high dairy fat intake was also associated with higher HDL cholesterol concentrations and larger LDL particle sizes but did not affect other lipoprotein fractions.
"Our results provide evidence that dairy fat in the context of a healthy diet has different metabolic effects than an equal amount of energy from other sources," says Research Fellow Julia Bogacka from the University of Eastern Finland, the leader of the study.
According to Associate Professor Jyrki Virtanen from the University of Eastern Finland, dairy is one of our most critical dietary components: "However, dairy fat seems to be quite unhealthy in the context of a Western diet. In our study, dairy fat reduced liver and total body fat, which suggests that dairy fat is not harmful but may even be beneficial in people with a healthy lifestyle."
However, dairy products are rich in potentially harmful components such as saturated fats and cholesterol. "We should bear these risks in mind when consuming dairy products," says Dr Bogacka.
The dairy fat-based diet was also found to induce beneficial changes in blood lipids, including higher concentrations of HDL cholesterol and larger LDL particle size. These changes are known to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
"These findings emphasise the importance of distinguishing between dairy fat and plant fats when studying dairy products," adds Dr Virtanen. "When consumed in their natural matrix, dairy products seem to have different effects on health compared with individual dairy substances."
In Finland, 80% of dietary dairy fat is estimated to come from whole milk, cream and sour cream, according to previous research conducted by the University of Eastern Finland on actual Finnish consumption patterns. The structure of dairy products containing high amounts of butterfat differs distinctly from that containing more cheese or dairy fat-free dairy proteins.
Dairy Supply Chain
As you have understood the importance of dairy fat and dairy products, let's now discuss why the supply chain of dairy products is also a critical part of the sector. Because dairy products are perishable, dairy manufacturers must find partners who can move products rapidly and reliably.
Transportation has the most significant impact on dairy products because it is subject to extreme changes in temperature. Dairy retailers typically want supply chain partners that offer an integrated transportation solution that delivers dairy products to their door under any conditions. It includes working with a carrier that provides expedited services for shipments requiring special handling or cold-chain protection during regular transit times and LTL or TL services during emergencies.
There are dairy supply chain companies that offer dairy products to businesses and individuals. Dairy supply chain companies provide dairy products for businesses, small shops, caterers, colleges, schools, cafeterias, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Most dairy supplies are delivered directly from the dairy supply company's warehouse or location where their product is held in inventory.
A dairy supply company has milk containers of various sizes for milk and cream and other fresh dairy products. Dairy product distribution channels can involve distribution centres that store produced goods before distributing them to warehouses which then distribute the dairy products further along in the food distribution process. Sometimes there is a direct relationship between a dairy farm that produces its dairy products and then sells them directly to dairy product supply companies.
Dairy supply companies may also supply dairy products to retail outlets, including dairy replacement items such as soy milk, almond milk, or rice milk. Retailers can resell dairy products that they purchase from dairy supply companies. Some dairy product distribution is done through dairy brokers who represent dairy production businesses and supply companies. A dairy broker represents the supplier's interests for whom they are working in negotiations with buyers or sellers who cannot communicate directly because of language barriers.
A dairy company is a full-service supplier of fresh dairy products, including cream, butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, gelato mixes and dry ingredients for bakery applications. They offer ingredient solutions including powdered whey proteins, non-fat dairy powders, dairy fats and dairy analogues. They provide packaging options of all types, including dairy bags, pouches, dairy drums and dairy totes to dry dairy products, so they don't receive microdamage.
A wholesaler is a business that purchases goods in bulk or large quantities from producers/manufacturers, usually resell them at a profit. Wholesalers act as middlemen between the producer/manufacturer and retailers; their primary function is to increase the value-added by contacting directly, precisely because they can cut out the traditional retail intermediary.
